WELCOME

Audio Visual Resource Center

The Audio-Visual Resource Center (AVRC) is the


school for studies in art and culture (SSAC) In
the faculty of arts and social sciences (FASS)
at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
The AVRC serves the combined facilities of
art, history, music and film at CU.
AVRC

 It provides valuable resources material for higher


education and mass communication.

 The programmes produced are televised under UGC/CEC


country wide classroom programmes.

 The center has made about 180 programmes covering


various subject and areas.

 It invites faculty from with in and out side the university as


subject experts to participate in the activites

AIMS OF AVRC

 The Audio-Visual Learning Resource center


aims to provide high quality audio visual and
support and learning opportunities to the
faculty, students and staff for curricular, co-
curricular and extra curricular activities:
 Deliver updated , reliable and functional
instructional equipment and materials.
 Respond quickly to the needs and
requirements related to audio visual
resources.

Facilitate the effective orientation and


technology skill development of its end users.
Provide efficient and reliable means of ID
processing and production.
Acquire feedback and content research for the
improvement of the AV services and
materials.
ART HISTORY

 Digital image slideboards, separate user


name and password.
 Approx. 250,000 slides of fine arts and
architectual subjects. Unique significant
material in this collections will became an
imporant research archive.
 A modest number of dictionaries,
encyclopedias and guides.

 Production of educational television
programmes for telecast on national network
under UGC’s wide classroom.

 All aspects of educational technology in
relation to learning in diverse age group for
both urban and rural population in various
disciplines.

 Circulation of reserve material for courses at


the 2nd year level and above.

 Online searching of the schools teaching and


reference collections, including a digital
image collection.

 Assistance in locating analoge or digital


material or in creating presentation.
CONCULSION
AVRC is charged with the
stewardship of the schools resource in
support of the pedagogical needs and
research interest of its faculty and students in
Art, History, Film and Music. The services and
collections are being developed to meet the
challenges of digital humanities research
through safeguarding of our analogue past
and by providing access to these materials in
new and meaningful ways.
