Introduction:
• Anand Milk Union Limited or AMUL is an indian dairy coopetative
based in the state of Gujarat in India.It is a brand managed by a
cooperative body, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation
Ltd(GCMMF).This industry found by Dr Varghese Kurien in 1946.Anand
is the headquarter of Amul industries in the state of Gujarat.
Historical Background of Amul:
*AMUL spurred India’s white revolution,which made the country the
world’s largest producer of milk and products.
*The first AMUL co-operative was the results of the farmers.
*Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel vision to organized the farmers.
*Dr Varghese Kurien ,who founded AMUL.

• The AMUL model of dairy development is a three tiered structure:-
1.Village level
2.District Level
3.State level
•The AMUL model has helped india to emerge as the largest Milk
producer in the world.More than 15 million milk producers pour thier
milk in 1,44,500 dairy co-operative societies across the country.Their
milk processed in 184 district co-operative Unions and marketed by 22
state marketing fedarations,ensuring a better life for millions.
