MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Nationality
Must be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region and have lived in Hong Kong for at least seven
years.

 Academic Requirements

 Five passes or above, which may include Chinese Language and English
Language or a combination of results in five Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary
Education, subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

 Recruitment and training were done through the Central Police


Academy, the National Police College, and the Police Consolidated
Training School.

 Recruits could request assignment to a particular service and


were assigned based on their education, technical skills, and
physical condition.

Imperial Police in 1948, a year after India
gained independence from Britain.

SELECTION PROCESS
• training period is for Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. sometimes it
may even extend to almost 2 years of training. Generally, the 1st half
of the training is done with the other services candidates at Mussoorie

• The second part of the training is done in two phases. It is done in the
National Police Academy in Hyderabad. The IPS officers also have to
do a certain amount of training in a district of their cadre in between
the 2 phases of training at the IPS academy.

• Lastly, they are expected to pass 2 levels of the exam and according
to their performance, their promotions to the next level is dependent.

recruiting, selection and training of their personnel. One important

special attack team.
 Regional Police Bureau = exercise control and supervision over regional
police offices and provides support with the prefectural police.

 Koban = a system of policing adopted in Japan, a


substation near major transportation hubs and
shopping areas and in residential districts which
forms the first line of police response to the public.

order to the Commission.

CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY

The government of Japan is a constitutional monarchy in which the


power of the Emperor is limited and is relegated primarily to
ceremonial duties. As in many other states, the Government is
divided into three branches: the Executive branch, the Legislative
branch and the Judicial branch.

 The average police officer salary in Japan is ¥7,835,720 or an


equivalent hourly rate of ¥3,767. In addition, they earn an

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
 All Japanese police recruits undergo a standardized curriculum
set by Japan's National Police Agency.

 High school graduates undergo 1 year of police school. After


which, they are given "hands on" experience through three
months of field work.

 College graduates undergo a slightly different system. While they


must also experience 3 months of field work, they only attend
police school for 8 months beforehand and 4 months after.

 Policía Nacional Bolivariana (Bolivarian National Police, PNB) is
Venezuela's national police force, created in 2009. Law
enforcement in Venezuela has historically been highly fragmented
and the creation of a national police force was originally not
popular among the public and organizations.

 The creation of a National Police was one of the


recommendations of a 2006 National Commission on Police
Reform.
