OBJECTIVES FOR THIS CLASS
 Students will be able to:
 -Understand some of the vocabulary in the video &
Powerpoint
 -Repeat the words from the video & powerpoint in
conversation.
 -Talk about what the Spanish words mean in English

SPANISH QUESTION PHRASES:
Spanish words : English words

¿Dónde está? : Where is _ ?

¿ Que Hora Es? : What time is it?

¿ Cõme Te llamas? : What is your name?

¿ Cuántos años tienes? : How old are you?

WEIRD WORDS & PRONOUNCATION
Feliz Cumpleaños –Happy birthday
Y- The means “and”, Pronounced “E”
Hora/Hola – H’s are silent. “Ora” “Ola”
Llamas- “yamas” (LL=y sound)
Que- “K”
terco/terca-
strong
 Many words are pronounced differently in
Spanish then in english. Remember that all H’s
are silent.
 A word that ends in “a” like in “terca” is used to
describe a strong female. Where as words in
words that in “o” like “terco” is used to describe a
strong man.
 Just adding “o” to a word doesn’t make them
Spanish. Example: In the song, the man says, “no
rembero how to say eleven.” Recordar-To
remember, is the actual word.
CONCLUSION
With a partner, try out to say a question word.
Now on a piece a paper write about:
 What you learned-This can be anything. Keep it
short
 What questions do you have now?

 Are there any other words in spanish you’d like


to know what they mean?(This can be in general
or from the video)
 Are there any words in English you’d like to
know how to say in Spanish?
