FINANCIAL SCHEMES BY BANKS

Punjab National Bank

PNB Mahila Udyami Scheme :

TThe women entrepreneurs will be assisted for setting up of new


projects in tiny /small scale sector and rehabilitation of viable sick
SSI units.
Existing tiny and small scale industrial units and service industries
undertaking expansion, modernization technology up gradation &
diversification can also be considered.
PNB Mahila Samridhi Yojna:
• Under This Scheme, four schemes have been launched under the umbrella of one
scheme. These are for purchase of required infrastructure for Setting up of
• Tailoring shop/Boutique, i.e. for purchase of Sewing Machines, etc.
• ISD/ STD Booths, i.e. for Security Deposits with MTNL/ other Agencies like Reliance/ Tata
Indicom. etc., for purchase of Fax Machine, Xeroxing/ Photocopier Machine, etc.
• Beauty Parlour, i.e. for purchase of Furniture, Chairs, Bench etc.
• Cyber Cafe, i.e. for purchase of Computers and furniture like computer tables, chairs
etc. and for recurring expenditure as per the need of the activity
• Scheme For Financing Creches
• To provide support services for women empowerment to working women in terms of
creches with necessary services by making cheaper and easier credit available for
financing Creches. The women will be assisted for purchase of required infrastructure for
setting up Creches like basic equipment, utensils, stationeries, growth monitoring
equipments, fridge, cooler/fan, water filter, etc. and for recurring expenditure for one
month.
PNB Kalyani Card Scheme
• For meeting working capital credit requirement of allied
agricultural activities/ misc farm/non- farm activities either
singly or in combination with other activities.
• The literate/illiterate women dwelling in rural / semi-urban
areas who have attained the age of majority shall be eligible
under the Scheme. Such Women shall include individuals,
farmers, landless labourers, agricultural labourers, tenant
farmers, share croppers, lessee farmers, etc.
• The women desirous of undertaking non-farm sector activities
should have aptitude/experience and capability for undertaking
the activity chosen for self-employment.
PNB Mahila Sashaktikaran Abhiyan
Under this scheme, following concessions will be admissible:
Interest rate to be relaxed by 0.25% in Non-Priority Sector Advances and
0.50% in Priority Sector advances
Margin to be reduced to 10%, wherever the margin requirement is more
than 10%
Waiver of 50% upfront fee (wherever applicable)
Trade Related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development (TREAD)
Scheme
The scheme envisages extension of credit by the bank and grant by the
Govt of India to NGOs for the benefit / on lending to women either
through SHGs or individually for setting up of small & micro enterprises
in non-farm sector.
Oriental Bank of Commerce
• Oriented Mahila Vikas YojanaTo meet Credit needs of Women
Entrepreneur.
• Women Entrepreneurs enterprise consisting of all units
managed by one or more in proprietary concerns or in which
she/they individually or jointly have a share capital of not less
than 51% as partners/ shareholders/ directors of a private ltd.
company/members of a co-operative society.
• To meet Credit needs of Women Entrepreneur. No collateral
security upto Rs.10 lacs and in case of SSI no collateral security
required up to Rs.25 lacs.Only Hypothecation of Assets created
out of Banks finance be taken as security.
Dena bank
The Bank has modified its Dena Shakti Scheme - a scheme for financing to Women
Entrepreneurs by including following activities / sectors under the purview of the scheme
so as to increase its out reach to women .
Activities covered under the scheme (as per the definition of Priority Sector conveyed by
RBI) :
1.Agriculture & allied activities
2.Small Enterprises (Direct and Indirect Finance)
Micro and small (manufacturing) enterprises
Micro and small (service) enterprises which include small road and water transport
operators, small business professional and self employeds and all other service enterprises
3. Retail Trade 4. Micro Credit 5. Education 6. Housing
• Ceiling of loan : The maximum ceiling limits that can be considered for
financing to women beneficiaries under this scheme will be as per the
directives of RBI stipulated for various sectors under priority sector
such as loans upto Rs 20.00 lakhs under retail trade, Rs 20 lakhs under
education and housing and Rs 50000/- under micro credit as well as
Bank's specific schemes circulated to branches / offices from time to
time.
• Margin : will be as per the norms stipulated by RBI / Bank from time
to time .
• Rate of Interest: Interest is to be charged as per extant guidelines of
our Bank and R.B.I.directives, as applicable to various sectors of
Agriculture and SE. A concession / rebate @ 25 basis points in the rate
of interest as applicable to existing activities is to be provided to the
women beneficiaries subject to certain conditions specified by the
Bank of Baroda
In order to encourage such women and fuel their desire to achieve
something in life, Bank of Baroda offers financial assistance for
professional, self-employed women and also those into retail trade and
agricultural activities.

Mahila Bank
• The Bank encourages women entrepreneurs through financial
support to women who intend to start a new venture.The Bank offers
a collateral free loan of upto Rupees One crore, covered under Credit
Guarantee Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE).
• The Bank also offers several women centric loan products, to help
women unleash their potential by starting small and medium
enterprises in any field where they could bring out their hidden
talents.
• BMB Parvarish - Child Day Care Centre Loan,
• BMB Annapurna – Catering Services Loan are some of the women
focussed, innovative, loan products.
• The Bank also reaches out to the last mile through tie-ups with
NGOs, Micro Finance Institutions and other organisations of
repute for micro credit loans to women.
• Komal Kali, a unique recurring deposit product exclusively for
the girl child, has been created with a view to create a corpus
for higher studies, starting own business etc as she turns 18.

TREAD Subsidy Scheme for Women

• Trade Related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development (TREAD)


Scheme for Women is a subsidy in India provided by the Ministry of
Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. Government provides subsidy of up
to 30% of the total project cost as appraised by lending institutions which
would finance the remaining 70% as loan Assistance to applicant women.
• Women eligible under this scheme are who have no easy access to credit
from banks due to their cumbersome procedures and the inability of
poor & usually illiterate/semi-literate women to provide adequate
security demanded by banks in the form of collaterals. Further, the
request for subsidy under this scheme must be made by a NGO for a
number of individual or group(s) women
Bharatiya Mahila Bank
• Bharatiya Mahila Bank is a one of a kind Bank in India formed
with a vision of economic empowerment for women. Bharatiya
Mahila Bank commenced operations in 2013 and currently has
45 branches across India.
• Bharatiya Mahila Bank focuses on women entrepreneurship
with special attention to economically neglected, deprived,
discriminated, underbanked, unbanked, rural and urban women
to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth. Some of the

• BMB Shringaar – Loan For Beauty Parlour


/Saloon/Spa: Collateral free loan of upto 1 crore is provided
under the CGTMSE Scheme for setting up of a beauty parlour
or saloon or spa. The loan is provided for a term of upto 7
years with an interest rate of 12.25% (Base Rate + 2.00%).
• BMB Annapurna – Loan For Food Business: Collateral free
loan of upto 1 crore is provided under the CGTMSE
Scheme for setting up of a food business. The loan is
provided for a term of upto 3 years with an interest rate of
11.75% (Base Rate + 1.50%).
• BMB Parvarish – Loan For Day Care Centre: Collateral free
loan of upto 1 crore is provided under the CGTMSE
Scheme for setting up of child day care center. The loan is
provided for a term of upto 5 years with an interest rate of
12.25% (Base Rate + 2.00%).
Mahila Coir Yojana
 The Mahila Coir Yojana Subsidy Scheme was promoted to provide
self employment to rural women artisans in regions producing coir
fibre. Conversion of coir fibre into yarn on motorized ratts in rural
households provides scope for large scale employment, improvement
in productivity and quality, better working conditions and higher
income.
• The scheme envisages distribution of motorized ratts/ motorized
traditional ratts for spinning coir yarn to women artisans. As per the
scheme, the Coir Board will provide 75% of the cost of the motorized
ratt as one time subsidy provided the other 25% is raised by the
beneficiary through voluntary organizations/ financial institutions/
own sources. Not more than one artisan per household would be
eligible to receive assistance under the scheme
Mahila Udayam Nidhi

 Mahila Udayam Nidhi is a subsidy scheme for women


entrepreneurs from Puducherry Government. Women
entrepreneurs setting up a new SSI unit in the service sector
in Puducherry State can avail this scheme.
• As per the scheme, for a project cost of Rs.10 lakhs, seed
capital of 25% is provided as a subsidy and the balance 75%
would be funded as a Term Loan (65%) and Promoter
Contribution (10%). The term loan would have a repayment
period of 6 to 8 years including moratorium of 1 to 2 years.
NINE SCHEMES FOR RURAL ENTREPRENEURS

• Rural India poses a huge entrepreneurial potential, which is still


remain unexplored. Lack of awareness about government
policies and schemes is a major hurdle in the growth of rural
entrepreneurs. Here are some schemes that can be of great
help to rural businessmen.
Janashree Bima Yojana For Khadi Artisans

• Description: It is a group insurance for khadi artisans formulated by KVIC


with LIC
• Nature of assistance: Insurance cover to khadi artisans for natural death
due to accident and loss of both eyes and both limbs, plus a scholarship
up to 12th standard for two children
• Who can apply: Khadi spinners and weavers aged between 18 years and
59 years, and below and marginally above poverty line

Market Development Assistance
• Description: Under this scheme, financial assistance are
provided for khadi institutions to improve outlets and
production processes besides giving incentive to customers
• Nature of assistance: 20% of production cost for khadi cotton,
woolen silk and poly vastra against the approved production
target
• Who can apply: Khadi institutions of A+, A, B and C categories

Rejuvenation, Modernisation and Technology
Upgradation of Coir Industry (REMOT)
• Description: The credit linked subsidy for setting up of coir units
with project cost plus one cycle of working capital (up to 25% of
the project cost and not to be considered for subsidy)
• Nature of assistance: 55% bank loan, 40% margin money
(subsidy) as government grant, 5% beneficiary contribution
• Who can apply: Individuals, SHGs, NGO, etc.
• From where to apply: Coir Board field offices through District
Industries Centre (DIC)
Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme

• Description: The scheme provides subsidy for entrepreneurs. It has been


implemented by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) through
identified banks, only for new projects.
• Nature of assistance: Subsidy varies from 15% to 35%, with 5% to 10%
beneficiaries’ contribution, and the balance through banks as term loan
and working capital loan
• Who can apply: Aspiring entrepreneurs, Self Help Groups (SHGs), etc.
• From where to apply: KVIC
Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) of Export Market
Promotion
• Description: The CSS is provided for the overall development of coir
industry; to support modernisation of export-oriented units to popularise
coir products in global markets, and to participate in international fairs,
seminars, etc.
• Nature of assistance: Up to Rs 2 lakh for participating in fairs and 25% of
production cost with a ceiling of Rs 15,000 for publicity material
• Who can apply: Any coir MSME, any coir exporter MSME with Free-on-
Board (FoB) turnover below Rs 2 crore and registered with Coir Board
• From where to apply: Coir Board field offices through DICs
Skill Upgradation & Quality Improvement And 19
Mahila Coir Yojana
• Description: Skill training to develop coir industry, and the
provision of spinning equipment to women to empower them
• Nature of assistance: Two months of training with Rs 750 per
month stipend, one-time subsidy of 75%, cost of motorised
traditional rates, with a ceiling
• Who can apply: Any coir MSME, any coir exporter MSME with
FoB turnover below Rs 2 crore and registered with Coir Board
• From where to apply: Regional Extension Centre
Programme for Promotion of Village Industry Cluster
- Rural Industry Service Centre (RISC) for Khadi And
Village Industry
• Description: To provide infrastructure support and services for
local units to upgrade production capacity and skills, and
market promotion
• Nature of assistance: Maximum of Rs 25 lakh with 25% self-
contribution, in three equal instalments
• Who can apply: Farmers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, SHGs, etc.

Development of Production Infrastructure

• Description: Provides modern infrastructure for production units leading


to improved productivity, quality and employment opportunities
• Nature of assistance: 25% cost of equipment with a maximum ceiling of
Rs 9 lakh and up to Rs 2 lakh for modernisation/renovation
• Who can apply: New coir processing units registered with Coir Board
• From where to apply: DIC
Welfare Measures Scheme (Coir Workers)

• Description: Accident insurance providing financial


compensation for disabled/nominee
• Nature of assistance: Accident death: Rs 50,000; Permanent
total disability: Rs 50,000; Permanent partial disability: Rs 25
000; Provision for finger cut: as applicable
• Who can apply: Coir workers aged above 18 years
