Global Population- The total number of
humans currently living.

Mobility- The ability to move between

different levels in society or employment.
Demography- study of statistics such as
births, deaths, income, or he incidence of
disease, which illustrate the changing
structure
A global city also called world city or
sometimes alpha city or world center, is a
city primary node in the global economic
network. The concept comes from geography
and urban studies, and the idea that
globalization is created, facilitated, and
enacted in strategic geographic locales
according to a hierarchy of importance to
the operation of the global system of
finance and trade.
The most complex node is the “global
city”, with links blinding it to other
cities having a direct tangible effect on
global socio-economic affairs.
Saskia Sassen-Structure of Global Cities
Demography, statistical study of human
populations, especially with reference to
size and density, distribution, and vital
statistics (births, marriages, deaths,
etc.)Contemporary demographic concerns
include the “population explosion”, the
interplay between population and economic
development, the effects of birth control,
urban congestion, illegal immigration, and
labor force unit statistics. For a
discussion of the objects of demographic
studies. In 18th-century Europe, the
development of life insurance and growing
attention to public health produced an
increased awareness of the significance of
mortality studies.
Civil registries of significant public events
(birth, deaths, and marriage) began in 19th
century to supplant church registries. Censuses
of the population also developed during the 19th
century.
For most of the 19th century, demographic
studies continued to emphasize the phenomenon of
mortality. They began to study fertility and
reproduction with as much interest as they
studied mortality. In 1928 the International
Union for the Scientific study of population was
founded. In spite of increasing sophistication
in the analysis of statistics and the
proliferation of research institutes,
periodical, and international organizations
devoted to the sciences of demographics, the
basis for most demographic research continues to
lie in population censuses and the registration
of vital statistics.
Despite the fact that neoliberal
globalization has a detrimental
impact on Third World women,
mainstream discourse on
globalization pays little attention
to their experience. It examines the
export of labor in the Philippines,
as a consequence of globalization
and debt crisis, through the
experience of Filipino migrant
domestic workers in Rome, one of the
Filipino communities in economic
Diaspora worldwide.
The feminization of export labor, where
the majority of Filipino migrant women are
segregated into domestic service work,
offers insights into the impact of
globalization on the widening gap between
the richer and poorer countries, the
intersection of
gender/race/nationality/ethnicity in the
stratification of labor market and the
creation of cheap, docile, mobile
reproductive labor force linked to capital
accumulation.
The New York Declaration for Refugees
and Migrants was held on September 19,
2016 at United Nation General Assembly
expresses the political will of world
leaders to saves lives, protect right
and share responsibility on global
scale. Protect the human rights of all
refugees and migrants, regardless of
status. This includes the rights of
women and girls promoting their full,
equal and meaningful participation in
finding solutions.
Ensure that all refugee and migrant
children are receiving education
within a few months of arrival.
Prevent and respond to sexual and
gender based violence. Support those
countries rescuing, receiving and
hosting large numbers of refugees and
migrants. Work towards ending
practice of detaining children for
the purposes of determining their
migration status. Strongly condemn
xenophobia against refugees and
migrants and support a global
campaign to counter it.
Strengthen the positive
contributions made by migrants to
economic and social development in
their host countries. Improve the
delivery of humanitarian and
development assistance to those
affected, including through
innovative multilateral financial
solutions, with the goal of closing
all funding gaps.
Implement a comprehensive refugee
response, based on a new framework
that sets out the responsibility of
Member States, civil society partners
and the UN system, whenever there is
a large movement of refugees or a
protracted refugee situation. Find
new homes for all refugees identified
by UNHCR as needing resettlement; and
expand the opportunities for refugees
to relocate to other countries
through, for example labour mobility
or educational schemes. Strengthen
the global governance of migration by
bringing the International
Organization for Migration into the
UN system.
