EXECUTIVE

• The power of implementing the constitutions.


• Executive consists of President, Vice-president, Cabinet,
and most federal agencies.
President—The president leads the country. He or she is the
head of state, leader of the federal government, and
Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces. The
president serves a four-year term and can be elected no
more than two times.
Vice president—The vice president supports the president. If
the president is unable to serve, the vice president becomes
president. The vice president can be elected and serve an
unlimited number of four-year terms as vice president, even

The number of representatives each state gets is
determined by its population. Some states have just 2
representatives. Others have as many as 40. Both senators
and representatives are elected by the eligible voters in their

The judicial branch interprets the meaning of laws, applies laws to


individual cases, and decides if laws violate the Constitution. It's
comprised of the Supreme Court and other federal courts.
• Nine members make up the Supreme Court— a Chief Justice
and eight Associate Justices. There must be a minimum or
quorum of six Justices to decide a case.
• If there is an even number of Justices and a case results in a
tie, the lower court's decision stands.
• There is no fixed term for Justices. They serve until their
death, retirement, or removal in exceptional circumstances.

government who carries out daily government
duties, leads the cabinet. Cabinet members
consisting of ministers generally come from
the House of Commons which is the party that
wins the election.
• The British Parliament links the bicameral system
consisting of the House of Commons and the
House of Lords. House of Commons whose
members are elected by the people through an
electoral system with a district system for a five-
year term. It is controlled by political parties, mostly
by the Labor Party and the Conservative Party.
• While the House of Lords is a representative body
whose members are appointed by the King /
• Supreme Of Court of Judicature as judicial power
holder.
• In this parliamentary system, the United Kingdom
creates a workable parliament, which is a parliament
which is directly elected by the people through
democratic elections so as to create the welfare of the
country.
• The cabinet is a group of ministers led by the prime
minister. It is this cabinet that really practices the
government. Cabinet members generally come from
the House of Commons. The prime minister is the
leader of the majority party in the House of Commons.
• Opposition. Opposition was carried out by the
party which lost the election. Opposition
leaders made a kind of counter-cabinet. If at
any time the cabinet falls, the opposition party
can take over the administration of the
government.
• The court is appointed by the cabinet so that
no judge is elected. However, they run a free
and impartial court, including deciding disputes
between citizens and the government.
• Britain as a unitary state adheres to a
