DANIELSON’S FRAMEWORK

 The state of Idaho has implemented Charlotte Danielson's framework for teaching.
 This will help evaluate both the competency and effectiveness of each teacher.
 Broken down into 4 domains/ categories.

EVALUATION

 Each teacher should demonstrate these different domains in each of their classes
 An administrator can evaluate the teacher using these domains and a rubric to determine the efficiency and
effectiveness.
IDAHO STATE STANDARDS

 Holds each teacher to appropriate standards in order to excel and educate children
 Our original standards were old and outdated, at risk of being declined by the NCATE
 Was adopted in 2012 from the InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards
STANDARD ONE

Learner Development Framework Demonstration


 Teacher must understand how learners grow and  Domain 1
develop, understanding that each individual is
 Domain 3
different.
 Differences may occur in these areas: cognitive,
linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas.
 Develop curriculum that will help accommodate
each learner.

Learner Differences Framework Demonstration


 Teacher understands that individual differences,  Domain 1
diverse cultures and communities will be in the
classroom
 Accommodates environment to enable better
learner meets high standards.
STANDARD THREE

Learning Environment Framework Demonstration

individuals, collaborative learing, and encourage

positive/ social interactions, active engagements in
learning and self motivation.

 Teacher must understand the central concepts of the  Domain 1
knowledge they are teaching.

learning and uses what they learn in their classroom.
 Adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner
STANDARD TEN

Leadership and Collaboration Framework Demonstration


 Teacher seeks appropriate leadership roles and  Domain 4
opportunities to take responsibility for student
learning
 Opportunities will include collaboration with
learners, families, colleagues, other school
professionals, and community members
CONCLUSION

 Danielson Framework was created to help teachers with their competency and effectiveness
 Broken down into 4 domains
 Idaho State Teaching Standards were created to give teachers guidelines to follow in and out of the classroom
 Broken down into 10 standards
 You can use the Framework Domains to demonstrate the teaching standards.
