AIR POLLUTION

CATA JULI TOMY JUAN ERIC ANGIE

• ANGIE: HELLO, MY NAME IS ANGIE.
• CATA: I AM CATA.
• TOMAS: I AM TOMY.
• JUAN: I AM JUAN.
• JULI: I AM JULI.
• ERIC: AND I AM ERIC.
• ANGIE: WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT…
• EVERYONE: AIR POLLUTION!
• JULI: FIRST, WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT
GENERAL INFORMATION.
• CATA: WHAT IS AIR POLLUTION?
• ERIC: Air pollution occurs when gases, dust
particles, fumes (or smoke) or odor are
introduced into the atmosphere in a way that
makes it harmful to humans, animals and
plant. This is because the air becomes dirty.
• JUAN: Things that pollute the air are
called pollutants. There are two types othere
are two types of air pollution:
TOMY: Primary pollutants are those gases or
particles that are pumped into the air to make
it unclean.
JULI: Secondary pollutants: When pollutants in
the air mix up in a chemical reaction, they form
an even more dangerous chemical
ANGIE: What causes air pollution?
CATA: Air pollution can result from both human
and natural actions. Natural events that pollute
the air include forest fires, volcanic eruptions,
wind erosion, pollen dispersal, evaporation of
organic compounds and natural radioactivity.
ERIC: Consider a typical manufacturing plant:
You will notice that there are long tubes (called
chimneys) erected high into the air, with lots of
smoke and fumes coming out of it. º
JUAN:What are the effects of air pollution?
TOMY: ACIDIFICATION: Chemical reactions involving
air pollutants can create acidic compounds which
can cause harm to vegetation and buildings. It can
kill trees and harm animals, fish, and other wildlife.
ANGIE: EUTROPHICATION: Rain can carry and
deposit the Nitrogen in some pollutants on rivers
and soils. This will adversely affect the nutrients in
the soil and water bodies.
CATA: SOLUTIONS ARE:
• ERIC: Government (or community) level
prevention
• Pollutants facts: Governments throughout the
world have already taken action against air
pollution by introducing green energy. Some
governments are investing in wind energy and
solar energy, as well as other renewable energy
• JULI: Individual Level Prevention
• Pollutants facts: Encourage your family to use
the bus, train or bike when commuting. If we
all do this, there will be fewer cars on the road
and less fumes produced.
• ANGIE: Pollutants factsUse energy (light,
water, boiler, kettle and fire woods) wiselY
• JUAN: Pollutants factsRecycle and re-use
things. This will minimize the dependence of
producing new things.
• ANGIE:And now we are going to present a
video of Air pollution.
• CATA: AND NOW, WE ARE GOING TO TALK
ABOUT CASES IN ARGENTINA.
• TOMY: Where can we find it?
• ERIC:WE can find it in .Mar del Plata, Bahia
Blanca, La Plata, Capital Federal, Bahia Blanca,
La Plata and Capital Federal.
• JULI:What is happening?
• JUAN: In Argentina, while most recent
expansion in soybean agriculture has relied on
available agricultural land.
• CATA: There are aggressive targets to expand
the agricultural area to increase soybean
production for export.
• ANGIE: NOW, WE HAVE A VIDEO TO SHOW.
• (WE SHOW THE CASES IN ARGENTINA VIDEO)
• EVERYONE: LET’S FIGHT AIR POLLUTION!
