The Verb to be Affirmative Contraction
Use
• To describe yourself, others, and things.
• The subject and verb to be are contracted in conversations.
• It is informal.

• subject + apostrophe + the verb to be without the vowel + noun/adjective
Examples

The Broken Telephone Activity
• In groups, you are going to play broken telephone. The teacher will
show a verb to be negative sentence to a student, then he or she will
whisper the sentence to another student, and so on. The first group
to correctly say the sentence will get a point. The group with the most
