DARE THE DEVIL AND HAVE DIVINE LIGHT
AND GLADNESS – Esther 3:2 – 4, Matt. 4:10
• And all the king's servants who were within the
king's gate bowed and paid homage to Haman, for
so the king had commanded concerning him. But
Mordecai would not bow or pay homage. Then the
king's servants who were within the king's gate
said to Mordecai, "Why do you transgress the
king's command?“ Now it happened, when they
spoke to him daily and he would not listen to them,
that they told it to Haman, to see whether
Mordecai's words would stand; for Mordecai had
told them that he was a Jew.. – Esther 3:2-4 (NKJV)3

• Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you,
Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship
the LORD your God, and Him only you
shall serve.'"– Matt. 4:10(NKJV)

Daring the Devil; pride or honour of God?
• Daniel 1:8 NKJV says “But Daniel purposed in
his heart that he would not defile himself
with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor
with the wine which he drank; therefore he
requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he
might not defile himself.”
• Matthew 4:10 NKJV says “Then Jesus said to
him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written,
'You shall worship the LORD your God, and
Him only you shall serve.'"
Daring the Devil; pride or honour of God?
Cont.
• Daniel 3:16-18 (NKJV) Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abed-Nego answered and said to the
king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to
answer you in this matter. If that is the case,
our God whom we serve is able to deliver us
from the burning fiery furnace, and He will
deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not,
let it be known to you, O king, that we do not
serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold
image which you have set up."
Daring the Devil; pride or honour of God?
Cont.
• Matthew 4:10 NKJV says “Then Jesus said to
him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written,
'You shall worship the LORD your God, and
Him only you shall serve.'“
• You cannot serve God and mammon at the
same time. You must choose who to worship
whether man, money or God.
• When you bow down to God in worship, man
will stand up for you to the glory of God.
• Nebuchadnezzar stood up for children of God
Daring the Devil; pride or honour of God?
Cont.
• You cannot experience the deliverance of God
until you lay your life down for God.
• When for the fear of what to eat or drink you
sidetrack the Word of God, you have
dishonoured God and if you run into trouble
you are not entitled to deliverance of God
except by His mercy.
The Lesson from History
• Was Mordecai proud and arrogant? On the
surface yes but if we know the history we
would admit that he was not proud but
feared God. And this is why.
• Esther 3:1 introduced Hamman as Agagite.
Who is an Agagite? The descendants of Agag
the king of the Amalekites (1 Sam. 15:8 – 33)
• Who are the Amalekites? Eternal enemy of
God Exodus 17: 16
The Lesson from History cont.
• It is self deceit to believe that an enemy of God
will ever love God’s children.
• Hamman did not intend to kill Mordecai alone
but all the Jews, the children of God.
• That is because the spirit behind Hamman is the
devil eternal enemy of God.
• History is repeating itself all the time, children of
Satan are working to annihilate the children of
God. Does that mean that children of God
should identify with the children of Satan so that
they can live?
Afflictions of the righteous and the
deliverance of The LORD.
• Ps 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all. -
(NKJV)
• The powerful of the world may seem to win for a
while but surely God has not forgotten His
children, if we can call upon Him He will rise for
our help.
• In this month God has purposed to deliver, to
save and turn our sorrow to joy in Jesus name.
The Charge and Altar Call
• Whose child are you brethren?
• Who are you worshipping? God or mammon?
• Choose the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord today
and stand up against the Agagite, the
Amalekite.
• It is not pride when you stand up for the truth
and God. You must decide your camp NOW!
• The enemies of the children of God will be
destroy soonest in Nigeria by the hand of God.
It is not enough that you come to church you
must refuse to bow to Hamman.
