- an official agreement that is made
between two or more countries or groups
on certain issue.
WHO Framework Convention
on Tobacco Control
•It is First International treaty negotiated under
WHO adopted by World Health Assembly in 21st
May 2003 and entered into force in 27th Feb 2005.

*It composed of 191 members of the World Health


Assembly, governing body of the WHO,
unanimously support the resolution initiating the
Framework Convention on Tobacco Control
(FCTC).

World-wide number of smokers will
increase from 1.1 billion to 1.6 billion
by 2025.
Mortality will more than double to 10
million per year by 2030.

It was developed by WHO in response

Performance Task – Group Activity
Directions:
Each group will be assign an activity that will be
based on the different ways of promoting some of the
provisions of the WHO Framework Convention on
Tobacco Control . The activity will be done within 15
minutes. For poster and slogan making, one member
for each group will present their output. The other
three activities will be presented as a group.
Presentation will be started from Group 1 – 5.
