HOW TO BE HONORABLE
SONS IN THE HOUSE?
Ephesians. 1:4-5 just as He chose us in
Him before the foundation of the world,
that we would be holy and blameless
before Him. In love He predestined us
to adoption as sons through Jesus
Christ to Himself, according to the kind
intention of His will,
Romans 8:15 For you have not received a
spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but
you have received a spirit of adoption as
sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!"
Malachi 4:5-6 "Behold, I am going to send
you Elijah the prophet before the coming
of the great and terrible day of the LORD.
He will restore the hearts of the fathers to
their children and the hearts of the
children to their fathers, so that I will not
come and smite the land with a curse."
WHAT IS THE SPIRIT OF SONSHIP?
1) Submission.
Phil. 2:5-8 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also
in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did
not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but
emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being
made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a
man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of
death, even death on a cross.
Submission is an attitude of the heart, where there is
love, respect and commitment to the father. The son
has confidence and trust in his spiritual father in
preparing him for his destiny.
2) Discipline.
Hebrews 12:8 But if you are without
discipline, of which all have become
partakers, then you are illegitimate
children and not sons.

Proverbs 13:24He who withholds his

rod hates his son, But he who loves him
disciplines him diligently.
Proverbs 29:15The rod and reproof
give wisdom, But a child who gets his
own way brings shame to his mother.
3) Obedience.
Exo. 20:12 Honor your father and your mother,
that your days may be prolonged in the land which
the LORD your God gives you.
Eph. 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the
Lord, for this is right. HONOR YOUR FATHER
AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment
with a promise), SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL
WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON
THE EARTH.
“Obedience is a process of letting
go of oneself and letting another
take precedence in our lives.”
