ASNSHS: THE DREAM THAT TEAMWORK AND SEDIP

PACKAGE MADE

The establishment of a Science High School in Agusan del Sur

is an avenue for intensive learning in Science, Technology and
Mathematics so as to develop the youth with knowledge, skills,
attitudes and values in these fields of education. It aims to
provide better educational opportunities to children with high
proficiency in Science and Mathematics subjects; set up in an
advanced institution of learning in basic education that will
provide the students with modern facilities, thereby, improving
the educational environment and helping develop human
resources ready to be globally competitive.
 Inspired by the winnings of Special Science
Students in the International Research contest in the
USA and the very high NEAT performance of the
Elementary pupils, all of whom belonged to the Special
Science Classes of the central schools, during the
School Year 2001-2002 the idea to establish a Science
High School in the province was conceptualized.
 In 2002, the Tenth Sangguniang Panlalawigan
of Agusan del Sur passed Resolution #32
authored by then Hon. Virgilio Zoilo approving
the establishment of Agusan Sur Science
High School.
Resolution # 227 s of 2002 authored by
Honorable Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member
Regina P. Salazar approved a Deed of Donation
donating a school site for the School.
 This also legitimized the School budget
from SEF though the auspices of Governor
Adolph Edward “Eddie Bong” Plaza.

It was legislated by virtue of R.A. 9537.

Furthermore, another historical milestone was
set by the school as it held its very first grand
alumni homecoming last December 27, 2015
here at the school grounds and later that day at
Rosalinda’s Place, San Francisco. This event was
successfully spearheaded by representatives from
all of the batches.
Most recently, with the K-12 Program’s implementation of Senior High School
Curriculum, ASNSHS offered the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics) Strand and received from the PFSED (Physical Facilities and
Schools Engineering Division) a two-unit typhoon resilient classroom on March
2016. This building had been occupied by the grade 11 students since June this
year and from then on been utilized as a venue for programs and occasions being
facilitated by the school. These changes and developments were made possible
through the cunning of Mr. Danilo P. Jore and Mr. Almer O. Cale. In its ruby year
moreover, ASNSHS Community is blessed with another proficient school
administrator in the person of Mr. German C. Talagon who will help skillfully
maneuver the school system in achieving its dreams and aspirations.
 Track Record
Since the beginning , the School
is holding the record of being a
consistent winner in the different
competitions in the different
subject areas especially in
Mathematics and Sciences.

garnered and attained by the school,
ASNSHS remains humble in delivering
quality and science-based basic education to
its clienteles. The unwavering support of the
Provincial Local Government Unit, Parents,
and all the stakeholders made these
endeavours possible.
 Truly, we’ve soared high then, and
with high hopes we will continue to soar
higher now until forever with this mantra
inculcated in our hearts and minds, “AIM
HIGH, SCIENCE HIGH.”
