Objective and Description
 To demonstrate the working of a Sucker Rod
Pump using a positive displacement piston.
 To develop a mobile application for
calculation of SRP parameter.
 SRP is used to bring the fluid from wellbore
to surface.
Literature Review
 Working of dual action
Sucker Rod Pump.
 Basic structure of Dual
action SRP.
 Components of
Barrel(2+1 NRV)
 Placement of pump.
(static and dynamic
level)
Literature Review
 Surface components
of SRP
 Sub-surface
components of SRP
 Use of different
components
 Types of SRP
Literature Review
 Different formulae
used for production

 Different physical
parameters for SRP
based on prime

 General flowline for
determining these
parameters
Planning of the Project
 One part of team
designs
framework(different
dimensions are fixed)
 Second part starts app
development
 A backup normal
Sucker Rod Pump is
also designed

Parameters to be
calculated for app
 PPRL
 MPRL
 Well Production
 Horse Power
 SPM
 Peak Torque
 Rod stress, stretch
 Plunger Stroke
 Overtravel
 Intake Pressure
Construction of the Project
 A attempt to
construct a dual
action pump was
made but size
limitations became a
main cause of
failure.
Construction of Project
 After that a normal
Sucker rod pump is
constructed with
help of two NRV and
an acrylic tube of
25mm inner
diameter
Construction of Project
 A framework is
constructed according
to the plan and a
setup for prime mover
starts.
 After which a Car
wiper motor(12v~5A)
with high torque(53
in-lb) and low
RPM(50)
Construction of Project
 A mobile android
app has been
developed for
determining various
parameters like
PPRL,MPRL, well
production, SPM,
peal torque, plunger
stroke, intake
pressure.

Conclusion
 The Sucker Rod Pump is used in oil wells where
the drawdown is not sufficient to lift the oil from
the wellbore to the surface. Our model uses a
piston which creates a suction causing the fluid
to be filled in the barrel.
 A Dual action pump requires bigger size barrel
for efficient fitting of 3 NRV valve and adequate
height for dynamic level to be higher than
second inlet valve
 A software can be used to design a SRP based
on requirements
