Mt. Pinatubo
Mount Pinatubo is
an active
stratovolcano in
the Cabusilan
Mountains on the
island of Luzon,
near the tripoint
of the Philippine
provinces of
Zambales, Tarlac
and Pampanga.

Krakatoa
Krakatoa, or
Krakatau, is a
volcanic island
situated in the
Sunda Strait
between the islands
of Java and Sumatra
in the Indonesian
province of
Lampung.

Mt. Damavand
Mt Damavand is the
highest peak in the
Middle East and the
second highest
volcano in Asia
(after Kunlun volcano
in Tibet). Damavand
last erupted about
7,300 years ago.
There are no
historical eruptions,
but fumaroles at
the summit
crater suggest that
the volcano is still
active.
Mt. Semeru
Semeru, or Mount
Semeru, is an active
volcano located in
East Java, Indonesia.
It is the highest
mountain on the
island of Java. This
stratovolcano is also
known as
Mahameru, meaning
The Great Mountain.

Mt. Merapi
Mount Merapi,
Gunung Merapi, is
an active
stratovolcano
located on the
border between
Central Java and
Yogyakarta,
Indonesia. It is the
most active volcano
in Indonesia and has
erupted regularly
since 1548.

Mount Kazbek, is
a dormant
stratovolcano and
one of the major
mountains of the
Caucasus located
in the Kazbegi
District of
Georgia, just
south of the
border with
Russia.
Mt. Aso
Mount Aso is the
largest active volcano
in Japan, and is
among the largest in
the world. It stands in
Aso Kujū National
Park in Kumamoto
Prefecture, on the
island of Kyushu. Its
peak is 1,592 metres
above sea level.

Mt. Bromo
Mount Bromo, is an
active volcano and
part of the Tengger
massif, in East Java,
Indonesia. At 2,329
metres it is not the
highest peak of the
massif, but is the
most well known.

Sakurajima
Sakurajima is an
active composite
volcano and a former
island in Kagoshima
Prefecture in Kyushu,
Japan. The lava flows
of the 1914 eruption
caused the former
island to be
connected with the
Osumi Peninsula.

Bazman is a
stratovolcano

Iran.
Japan’s Mt. Fuji is an
Mt. Fuji
active volcano about 100
kilometers southwest of
Tokyo. Commonly called
“Fuji-san,” it’s the
country’s tallest peak, at
3,776 meters. A
pilgrimage site for
centuries, it’s considered
one of Japan’s 3 sacred
mountains, and summit
hikes remain a popular
activity. Its iconic profile
is the subject of
numerous works of art,
notably Edo Period
prints by Hokusai and
Hiroshige.

inactive
stratovolcano in the
Alborz mountain
range and Ardabil
Province of
northwestern Iran. At
4,811 metres in
elevation, it is the
third highest
mountain in Iran.
Porak
Porak or Axarbaxar is
a stratovolcano
located in the
Vardenis volcanic
ridge. It lies about 20
km southeast of Lake
Sevan and the
volcanic field spans
the border between
Armenia and
Azerbaijan with lava
flows running into
both countries.
Mt. Mayon
Mayon Volcano, also
known as Mount
Mayon or simply
Mayon, is an active
stratovolcano in the
province of Albay in
Bicol Region, on the
island of Luzon in the
Philippines.
