KNIT-DE-KNIT PROCESS

Definition:
1.knit and de knit texturing is the one
of the different texturing methods among 12
texturing methods.
2. It is a type of yarn texturing in which
a crimped yarn is made by knitting the yarn
into the tubular fabric and then heat setting
the fabric.
3.The yarn is then unraveled from the
fabric and used.
Different stages:
 As the name implies this type comprises a three
separate stages namely,
1.knitting on a single feeder knitting machine of
small diameter.
2.Heat setting the knitted sleeve in a steam
autoclave.
3.unravelling process.
 Yarns were passed through the bulking
attachment to modify the structure of crimp yarns.
Process speeds:
1.knitting speed is in the range of 480
-1000 m/min.
2.For obtaining a loop structure the steam
treated in a autoclave with a pressure of
415pa and at a temperature of 115C.
3.The unraveling machine works at a speed
of 700m/min.
Types of yarns used :
1.polyester PET
2.polyamides (PA6 and PA66)
Characteristics:
1.Two dimensional wave like crimp effect yarns
can be produced.
2.Due to the presence more parallel fibers
brightness of the yarn gets increased.
3.High extension.
4.more lusture.

Advantages:
Yarns produced in this technique consists of ,
1.High extensibility.
2.High uniformity.
3.High crimp nature.
