BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
“Vehicles are the top contributor to air pollution”.
Coal is commonly used in grilling foods or in
making a fire. Coal also absorbs and retain, a wide
variety of chemicals at the same time, and works
well under a wide range temperature and humidity
conditions.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This research is conducted to know the effectivity of
coal as an exhaust filter.

Specifically, the study will answer the following

question:

1. How will the smoke exhaust filter work?

2. What are the benefits of having a smoke exhaust filter

in the community?
 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
Coal is commonly used in grilling foods or in
making fire. Previous researches revealed that can
absorb bad odors of bad smell in the house and
eve eliminate smoke (Inspired living, 2016). The
researchers conducted this study to benefit:
Community
• The exhaust filter can be helpful by reducing the smokes
that the people inhale and get in the exhaust pipe. We
can avoid the smoke of the exhaust pipe, which is very
harmful to us.
Environment
• Exhaust filter is a good absorber of pollution in the
environment and it can eliminate the pollution that the
vehicles release.

• ½ yard of window screen
• Exhaust fan
• 1/8 illustration board
• 1/0 switch
• 9 volts battery
• Electrical tape

 RESULT AND DISCUSSION
From the experiment conducted, the researchers came up the
following results:
1. How will the smoke exhaust filter work?
- The filter will be switched on as the engine of the car is on and
switched it off as the engine of the car if off. With the use of coal, it will
absorb the smoke and leave the filter clean.
2. What are the benefits of having an exhaust filter in the community?
- The exhaust filter can be helpful by reducing the smokes that
the people inhale, which we can get at the car. It also a prevention for
those who have heart disease, and lung diseases.
 CONCLUSION
• The researchers concluded that the smoke exhaust filter
using coal will function. The smoke exhaust filter works as it
functions properly.
 RECOMMENDATION
• The product is too big to connect it to the exhaust, we
recommend that the product need to be small, to fit in
exhaust of the car. We also recommend that it is more
convenient if the filter is powered by the car engine or
battery.
