Meaning of Education
 The word “Education "has been derived from different
Latin words:
 “Educare”which means “to bring out” to “to nourish”.
 “Educere”which means to “lead out "or “to draw out”
 “educatum” which means “Act of teaching” or “training”.
 “Educatus”which means "to bring up, rear educate”

Quaid says to the first Educational
conference 1947
“we have to build up the character of our future
generations, which means highest sense of honor,
integrity, selfless services to the nations and
sense of responsibility ,and we have to see that
are fully qualified and equipped to play their
part in various branches of economic life in a
manner which bring honor to Pakistan”
Constitution of Pakistan
The constitution of Pakistan framed in 1973
in article 37 (b) and (c) promised to its
citizens that:
“The state shall remove illiteracy and provide free
and compulsory secondary education within the
minimum possible period make technical and
professional education generally available and
higher education equally accessible to all on the
basis of merit.”
Education of Pakistan

 Pakistan produces about 445,000 university graduates and


10,000 computer science graduates per year.

 With 18 million of population the 11% of peoples having


the command over the English and it makes it 9th largest
country in the world and 3rd largest country in ASIA.
Financing of education

 Federal governments provides funds to provinces


to meet the development expenditure.
 Unfortunately Pakistan has allocated only 1.4% of
the budget for education.
 The budget is even significantly lower than that
of India which spends 4.1% of GDP.
 Resultingly in becoming 126 position in the world
ranking.

Flaws of education system

 Education system is based on unequal lines

education

 Pakistan educational system stratified according to socio-


economic class.
 Every stratum of society has its own distinct syllabus and
text books.
 These different systems of education with their own
curricula, are widening the gulf among social classes and
drifting them away from national unity.

and much more multi-crises land. War on terror since 2001
have reviled the administrative machinery of Pakistan.
 It is time that the current government of Pakistan must
tackle education problem because illiteracy is even threat
to democracy.
