This is a story of a brave man Isko, a small

farmer who saved the place of mayabong from a
greedy giant named Burarog through a massive
slingshot.

 Background of the Play

• The musical play is based from the writers book “Ang

Matapang na si Isko,” it’s a children's book (picture
book).
• The musical play is created to exposed echagueños to
this type of art at the same time inspire them about
the moral of the play and showcase the talent that
Echagueños had.
 Production
• Jessica Gallego (Isko author, composer and producer).
- She is an entrepreneur, preschool teacher, commercial model and artist. She
started performing in theater at the age of 8 for Once on this Island as little
Timoune.
• Jeffrei Rabe (Stage Director)
- This seasoned theater artist and advertising professional has directed, acted, and
stage-managed countless production.
• Terrence Guillermo (Composer/Music Director)
- A broadway World - Awards 2013 Best Featured Actor in a Musical, has been in
performing arts circle for over 3 decades and has performed and directed over 300
productions in Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, and Philippines. He
took up Theater Arts at the University of the Philippines and received a distinction
(the highest mark) for singing from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music.

 Musical Play: Art Function

1. Personal: the artists express through music and

theater act. The producer wanted to expose this
kind of art to Echagueños.
2. Social: conveys the sense of being a Filipino.
3. Cultural: portrays the optimism of a being a Filipino
4. Aesthetic: the collaborative presentation of the
artists and props.
5. Spiritual: conveys the mental fortitude and faith.
