In read texts about history or government, a

sequence of dates and event is frequently used
to explain or argue claims. A series of dates and
events listed according to the order in which they
occur.
After Thomas Jefferson graduated from college, his career advanced quickly
and steadily. Jefferson graduated from the college of William and Mary in
1762 and was admitted to the bar in 1767. He became a member of the
Second Continental Congress in 1775 and was chairman of the committee
that wrote the Declaration of Independence. From 1785 to 1789, he was
the US minister to France, and from 1790 to 1793, he served as the US
Secretary of state. Jefferson served as vice president from 1797 to 1801 ;
and on March 4, 1801, he was inaugurated as the third president of the
United States

A sequence of steps is when a process is written in the order that tasks were
done. Recipes and scientific producers are written using this organizational
structure.
When a sequence of event is used, it creates a chronological pattern of
organization,meaning it follows the progrssion of time, either forward or
backward. historical topics are best organized using this pattern because
readeres are able to understand a series of related events, when they
happended, and what happened before and after them. more complex
informational text often use literaly devices, such as flashbacks, to hint at a
change in the time order by going back in time and then returning to the
present time period being discussed. but a more simplistic organizational
pattern involving a sequence of events divides events into past, present, and
future or before during, and after segments.
A simple box camera is made up of four essential parts:

shutter, lens box and film. When a picture is “ taken” the shutter opens and

allows the light to enter. The lens, a circular piece of glass with a curved
face, focuses the light and allows it to pass through the box. The light-
sensitive film at the back of the box then receives and records the image

In longer text, the sequence of steps pattern give more attention to each step.
Sometimes, they devote an entire paragraph to one step or stage.
