GRAMMAR Conditional sentence type 2

• Unlike future conditions: We use the second conditional


for future actions or situations that are possible, but
unlikely.

• Unlike present conditions: We can use the second


conditional for present situations that are imaginary, not
real.

(To be: use WERE)

- If the sentence begins with an ‘if clause’, put a comma
between the if clause and the main clause.

- In ‘If Clauses Type 2’, we usually use ‘were’ which is


past form of ‘to be’ instead of ‘was’ although the pronoun
is ‘I, he, she or it’.

get a letter from the doctor.

You can see some scenes on the Earth such as your country, other
interesting places, the oceans, the big rivers and the tall mountains.

You can get out of your seat, walk in the cabin, on the wall or the ceiling
