• Family physicians or GPs are the key providers of primary medical care and
so essential to successful primary health care.
• The family practitioner views the practice population as a ‘population at
risk’ as part of providing community-oriented patient-centered preventive
care.

by the World Health Assembly. It is also important to have the full health
