Revised Guidelines in the

Conduct of Media Interview
and Press Conference with
Inmates
 Media and PDL - initiated
interviews and press
conferences
Applicability
 Media shall secure the ffg:

BEFORE (1)Approved Clearance

interview (2) Written Consent of PDL and his lawyer
(3) Court Clearance
 Unit CRS-JNOR?
 Prepare the facility or area assigned for interviews
 Adjust scheduled activities
 Inform/ Brief PDL
 Verify the identity of media personalities
BEFORE  Check the pre-interview questions

interview  Check PDL Proper Attire

 Check the gadgets, cameras, video-cams, recorder.
  The PDL shall submit prior to the
PDL-initiated interview, a complete list of specific
interviews issues, concerns or information
presscon intended to disclosed to the MEDIA.
 IMPORTANT
 Warden or his authorized representative shall supervise
the whole interview period.
 No Questions related to PDL case shall be asked.
 PDL must be informed of his right NOT TO ANSWER
incriminating questions.
 NO PHONE-PATCH INTERVIEW.
 PDL has all the right to terminate the interview.
 Unit CRS-JNOR TASK?
 Documentation
 Interviews shall be made in secured area.
DURING  PDL is not allowed to stay outside his cell
interview during interview.
 Warden or his duly reprentative shall be
present at all times.
 Pre-Press  Determined and Agreed Topics or
Conference Issues to be disclosed.
 Media Invitation/Media
Advocacy/Media Advisory.
 If PDL-initiated, PDL or his legal
counsel shall invite media.
 General Guidelines
 Secure the facility.

DURING  Warden shall designate a Close-in security for the PDL.

Press  Limit questions as to the agreed topic or issues.

 Ensure that important issues are covered.
Conferences  Moderator. Warden. Duly Representative.
 Unit CRS-JNOR TASK?
 Have the unedited copy of interviews/
AFTER press conference from Media.
