• How does cytoskeleton work?
History of cytoskeleton
• Nikloai gave the structure of cell that show tubules network and
he termed this concept is cytoskeleton in 1903.
• Many other scientists work hard to describe structure of
cytoskeleton Rudolph and Paul in 1931,firstly when it was
discovered it was only fell like material that us present in the cell
and that had no specific function in the cell.
• After that two scientists Staurt and Penrose discovered
cytoskeleton system of microtubules that play a very important
role in transformation of waves from brain to other part of body
through vibrations of neurons, it is only present because of
cytoskeleton, by this discovery it was show that it was not like a
gel like material.
• When it was first discovered it was only present in
eukaryotes but later it was present in also
prokaryotes and it realized after discovery of
bacteria that have protein like tubules and actins
which are main part of nucleus containing
organisms.
Introduction and functions of
cytoskeleton
• Cytoskeleton is a network of fibre extending through
cytoplasm.
• The cytoplasm organize through structure of cell.
• Through a series of intracellular proteins the
cytoskeleton give a cell its shape support and
facilitate movements through three main
components that are microfilament, intermediate
filaments and microtubules ,and there are three of
function of microtubules that contribute in the job of
cytoskeleton.
• Cytoskeleton is formed in every type of cell and it
acts as origin of life.It is made up of interconnecting
filaments and tubules which are so complex and
extends through cytoplasm from plasma
membrane and to the nucleus. It is composed of
same type of proteins. In true nucleus containing
organisms the dynamic structure of cytoskeleton
systems is composed of three main types of
proteins which are undergone of fast growth and
depends on cells at different time .It is presenting
every cell.
What does a cytoskeleton do?
• Function in cell motility and regulation
• Provide structural support to cell
• Mechanical support
• Maintain shape
• Provide Anchorage for organelles
• Dynamic structure
How functions of cytoskeleton
and the cell was similar?
• The function of cytoskeleton is to hold the
organelles of cell in place,it provide support to cell
,a cell wall also protects and holds the cell and it
provide support to cell.
Do plant cell have a cytoskeleton?
• Structurally plants and animal cell are very similar
because they are both eukaryotic cell ,they both
contain membrane bound organelles such as
nucleus,mitochondria,endoplasmic reticulum,golgi
apparatus,lysosomal and peroxisomes. Both also
contain similar membranes cytosol and cytoskeltal
elements.
