The Meaning of Simple Future Tense

Simple future tense is a verb tense wich is used to


talk about things that will happen.

The Formula of Simple Future Tense

 Affirmative (+)
 Verbal S + will/shall + Verb 1 + O
Example : - They will take school examination next month
(Mereka akan mengikuti ujian sekolah bulan depan)
- I shall make an appointment with Personnel Manager then
(Saya akan membuat janji dengan manajer pribadi kalau begitu)
 Nominal S + To Be (Is, Am, Are) + Going To + Verb 1 + O
Example : - Peter is going to move to this new house next week
(Peter akan pindah ke rumah barunya minggu depan)

 Negative (-)
 Verbal S + will/shall + Not+Verb 1 + O
Example : - They will not take school examination next month
(Mereka tidak akan mengikuti ujian sekolah bulan depan)
- I shall not make an appointment with Personnel Manager then
(Saya tidak akan membuat janji dengan manajer pribadi kalau begitu)
 Nominal S + To Be (Is, Am, Are) + not + Going To + Verb 1 + O

 Nominal To Be (Is, Am, Are) + S + Going To + Verb 1 + O ?


Example : - is Peter going to move to this new house next week?
(Akankah Peter pindah ke rumah barunya minggu depan?)

Future continous tense is used to express an on-going or


continued action wich will occur at some time in the future.
Time Signal Future Continous Tense

Time Signal : - Tomorrow - At this time tomorrow


- When - At the same time next week
- While - By this time tomorrow

Example : -Ratih will be calling you at 7 0’clock tomorrow morning
( Ratih akan menelponmu pada jam 7 pagi besok)

( Saya akan belajar kebudayaan Jepang )
 Nominal S + will + be + Noun/Adj/Adv
Example : -She will be happy
(dia akan bahagia)
