Visit To Cane Craft Museum -
Jharcraft was a museum in Jharkhand where the various Crafts work can be seen. One can know
about how they promote their work and their marketing strategy. Cane crafts is also available
there. Jharcraft has many outlets all over India, and they supply cane crafts to all outlets from
Jharkhand. The Whole outlet of Jharcraft is decorated with Handicrafts and Handlooms. The
Display of the store and the museum was amazing, they showed the works of different artists
and also the historical items with famous craft works. The government of Jharkhand promoted
the handicrafts very well. Jharcraft provided great employment to the artisans. Great efforts
behind each cane crafts can be seen in the workshops of Cane Crafts.

Cane
• Cane is used in manufacturing an variety of furniture, including tables, chairs,
sofas, and cabinets.
• It comes from the rattan tree. Cane is often mislabeled
as wicker or bamboo.
• Cane can be purchased in the form of a fiber
or pre-woven and ready to stretch onto a furniture frame.
Raw material
• The raw material is imported from Kolkata, Assam, Vijayawada.
• A long cane stick is the only raw material used for making various cane works.
• Out of a single stick 2 major parts are made by
cutting out of which 1 is used for the base of any
cane product while the other part is further divided
into 8 parts, which is used for threading the entire product.
• Canes are of cylindrical and of uniform thickness,
solid, straw yellow to brown in color.
• They order in a set of cane sticks. One set is consist of 32 pcs.
