 Definition of hospital
1. Hospital is a health service institution that organizes
individual health services in a comprehensive manner
that provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency
services.
2. General hospital is a hospital that provides health
services in all fields and types of diseases.
3. Special hospital is a hospital that provides primary
services in one field or one particular type of diseases or
other specificity.
Hospitals can be classified according to
criteria as follows :
1. Based on ownership
a) Government general hospital
Government general hospital is a hospital that is
financed,organized and supervised by the government,
both the central government(ministry of health
),regional government, ABRI, ministry of defense and
security and the state-owned public agency (BUMN).
Government general hospitals can be classified based
on elements of service, personnel, physical and
equipment :
 Class A Hospital
 Class B Hospital
 Class C Hospital
 Class D Hospital
b). Private Hospital
Hospital that are owned and organized by
foundations, religious organizations or other
legal entities and can also work with
educational institutions. These hospitals are
responsible for fund sponsors and generally do
not tax their customers. This hospital can be
profit and non-profit.
2. Classification based on type of service, consists of 2
types :

a). General Hospital is hospitals that serve all forms of


health services according to their abilities. Health
services provided by hospitals are basic, specialist and
subspecialistic.
b). Special Hospital is hospitals that provide health
services based on certain types of services such as cancer
hospital, leprosy hospital, lung hospital, eye hospital, etc.
3. Classification based on the length of stay in the
hospital, consisting of :

a). Hospital for short term care


This hospital serves patients with recurrent diseases that
can be treated in a relatively short period of time, for
example a hospital that provides specialist services.
b). Hospital for long-term care
This hospital serves patients with chronic diseases that
must be treated regularly and for a long period of time,for
example the rehabilitation hospital and mental hospital.
4). Classification based on their relationship with
educational institutions, consisting of :

a). Educational hospitals, namely hospitals that


organize training programs for various
professions.
b). Non-educational hospitals, namely hospitals
that do not hold training programs for various
professions and do not have cooperative relations
with universities.
5). Hospital classification based on the form :
a). Settlement Hospital
A permanent hospital is a hospital that is
estabilished permanently for a long period of time to
provide personal health services in a comprehensive
manner that provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency
services.
b). Mobile Hospital
moving hospitals are hospitals that are ready to use
and are temporary in a certain period of time and can be
moved from one location to another. Mobile hospitals can
take the form of buses, ships, caravans, railroad cars or
containers.
c). Field Hospital
Field hospital are hospitals that are estabilished in
certain locations during emergency conditions during the
implementation of certain activities that have the
potential for disaster or during the emergency response
period. Field hospitals can be in the form of tents in open
spaces , containers, or permanent buildings that function
as temporary hospitals.

1. what is meant by the clasiffication of hospital?


I think a hospital classification is the kind of hospitals
based on our classification if will be recording the owner
of service is we classification about the owner. I think
there are two hospital one is public goverment hospitals
and two private hospitals the public goverment hospitals
is owner by our goverment and private owner by the other
or service because there is two kind service, publik and
special.
2. what are the different classification of public
hospitals and special hospitals?
Public hospitals provide general medical service
we find almost all kind of medical service but in
special hospital, there are just one kind of medical
service, like a hospital for internist, or givecolog
or surgery.
3. According to the type of service is the same between
public government hospitals and private hospitals?
Public government hospotals deserve many goverment
problem and know BPJS healthy, but in private hospitals
not our in private hospitals have the program of our
goverment because the garden the hospitals.
4. what is the difference between a teaching
hospital and not education?
The teaching hospitals not all the hospitals give
the teaching hospitals but there are so many
program like make some mou between university
or academic college two have them save resident
or job training like our campus , our campus have
mou with one educational hospitals gunung jati if
will be come some teaching hospital and give us
the service two job training there maybe one more
training about our job hospital or the resident for
the doctor.
