given 20 mins only in
order to manage time
efficiently.

➤ Follow the SUN method-
S-Skimming
U-Underlining
N-Note making.
➤ The SUN method will not only help you manage time
efficiently, but also helps you to attend all the questions
without missing out on anything.

SUMMARISE WRITTEN TEXT:

➤ Analyse the given image


carefully for details like date,
time and classifications.
➤ Take a close look at the
statistical data provided in the
image.
➤ In every summary, there should
be a differentiation made.
➤ Handwriting and spellings
should be checked at all times.
➤ Time : 20 mins
➤ Word limit : 150 words.

LETTER WRITING
➤ The two types of letters that will
be asked are :
➤ Formal and Informal.
➤ No requirement of address.
➤ Focus on developing the body of
the letter in a manner that suits
the topic.
➤ Handwriting and spellings should
be checked at all times.
➤ Include important information like
date, time etc to be more precise.
(Eg: Letter to the police
department for loosing your

SPEAKING
SPEAKING
➤ 3 Levels in speaking.
➤ Level 1- Self introduction
➤ Level 2- Topic talk
➤ Level 3- A two way discussion
between the examiner and the
candidate.
➤ Use the method of Cohesion and
coherence in speaking.
➤ Time:
➤ Level 1- 2 mins
➤ Level 2- 2:30-3 mins
➤ Level 3- 4 mins
STRATERGIES FOR SPEAKING & WRITING :
➤ Coherence & Cohesion :
➤ Use transition words like:
➤ Listing : Firstly, secondly, finally
➤ Opinion : As per my view, in my opinion
➤ Conclusion : To sum it up, in conclusion, In the end, To wind
up etc.
Always remember, the most important key that is required while
speaking or writing is nothing but cohesion. The content that an
individual is speaking/writing is always measured using the flow that
he has with regard to the topic.
LISTENING
AUDIO BASED
➤ Foreign accents:
➤ British, Canadian, Australian,
New zeland etc.
➤ Head phones will be provided
to every student.
➤ The audio will not be replayed
or forwarded under any
circumstance.
➤ There will be a set of 40 questions asked.
➤ The 40 questions are divided as 4 different sections.
➤ Each section has 10 questions.
➤ All the questions will not be continuous.
➤ There will be a gap between every 3-5 questions.
➤ Some time is given to the candidate to read the questions before
hearing the audio.
➤ Every section has a different audio.
➤ In some audios, there will be 2-3 people discussing a particular issue.
➤ The candidate has to pay close attention to all the little details that the
speaker is saying.

HOW TO BOOST YOUR SCORE?

➤ Follow the task directions

➤ Pay close attention to spellings
and handwriting.
➤ GUESS. Do not miss out on
any question by any chance.
Answer all the 40.
➤ Do not put in all your energy in
the beginning as it is a 3 hour
long exam. Be slow and steady.
➤ Find your weakest skill. Work
on it more and practise content
available online.
