• Yes, it took time. The most

In the primary election, which was held in May I won 58% of the vote or 466 votes. In the general election which was held in November I won 577 votes or 60% of the votes. Most important part of this election was people came out and supported me. We’re you happy when you became the mayor?

• Yes, I want to make Duquesne
a better place. I want our children’s to have safe,& clean places to play. I want better quality of education, to be provided, with better housing, affordable housing , walkable sidewalks, better access to health care providers, improved transportation access to careers, and better quality of life for all. And water. Before you became the mayor, what did you want to do? • I wanted to work for the government. 10 years working for the United States House of representatives, office of congressman Mike Doyle as a field representative and district caseworker. Afterwards, I was employed as a front line manager and contact service. Representative for the United States Department of the treasury. Is your job hard? • At times, the job is hard. The city of Duquesne charter has not been updated since 1917. A comprehensive plan for development has not been completed. There are no standard operating policies or procedures for departments inside the city. The finances of the city were not kept properly. Just to name a few. Everyday, I have to identify the wants versus needs of the community, Make sure the residences are safe, And ensure the financial stability of the city. What part of the community do u take place in? • As the Mayor I represent the city on several community organizations for example: Steel river, council of government, congress of Neighboring communities, Duquesne partnerships, Duquesne boys+girls club, Alumni, Pittsburgh business exchange, Pittsburgh for public transportation, Pennsylvania Interfaith impact network, moms Demand action, National association for the advancement and color people, McKea temple 322, American legion, Urban league, Partner for work, Duquesne community day. • I was sworn into office on
January 2, 2018. I am the first black woman and first black persons to hold this position in the city’s 128 years of experience.
