obese and it is that when we talk about the United States and its
gastronomy you cannot say much, people eat a lot of food that is not
healthy, at night they also seek to eat fast food or in another case call
AR and order burgers or a pizza, the locals already have wheelchairs
for people who can't walk, this is a worrying problem in the long run.

THE OBESITY RATE IN THE US REACHES A LEVEL
NEVER BEFORE SEEN

The rates of juvenile obesity seem to be more stable in recent
years. However, it is "too early to say" what direction the
prevalence of obesity will take on young people. At least four
more years of data are needed to understand it, Hales said.
What is "more striking" about this information is that there
has been a 30% increase in adult obesity and 33% in juvenile
obesity from 1999-2000 to 2015-16, despite the efforts of
the government to address the problem, according to Michael
W. Long, assistant professor at the Milken Institute for Public
School Health at George Washington University. By looking at
the goals of Healthy People 2020, a government effort to
improve Americans' health in 2010, including reducing
obesity, the crisis is even greater. The initiative aims to reduce
obesity rates to 14.5% among young people and 30.5%
among adults by 2020.
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OBESE IN THE
UNITED STATES?

What is so attractive about that style of eating that every day there are more
people who imitate it? It seems more trendy because that's how they eat in
the movies and the North American series. Is it because of the high
addictive power of fast food and processed products? Whatever the
explanation, what the statistics tell us is that, as we abandon the traditional
diet and copy them, our obesity rates skyrocket. And what do we do when
we get fat? Well, we subscribe to hypocaloric, hyperproteinic, detox, low fat
or whatever ... and then something happens in our brain because we started
thinking about food with a kind of neurotic obsession. A pity, because if the
Mediterranean countries have shown "historical wisdom" something has
been in food! Rich in fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, fish, whole-grain
breads, fermented milk products, EVOO and a little red wine (until we
started to imitate other countries, here we drank wine with food or to
socialize, not for get drunk), there is no healthier relationship with food than
the traditional Mediterranean. Please, let's be civilized! We recover the right
to eat with pleasure.
