1.INFORMATION ABOUT THE
HOST INSTITUTION
I am a third year student at the Faculty
of Letters. I chose to unfold my probation
period at the "Dar Works" translation
office.
I had a very beautiful and enriching
experience. It was a major asset and a real
opportunity to develop my translation
skills, acquire new knowledge and train
my communication skills as well as
improve my team work competencies and
collaboration on common translation
projects.

2. TASK BOOK

I elaborated and presented documents

and texts in the field of politics and law
that have been translated in two
languages (English-Romanian and
Romanian-English).
2. TASK BOOK
I examined and translated various
certificates for example:
 Civil Status Certificate,

 Birth Certificate,

 Certificate of Marriage / Divorce,

 Certificate of Criminal Record,

 Education credentials: degrees, transcripts

Texts: Institutions of the Republic of

Moldova, Legislative Role in the Republic of
Moldova, Members of Parliament Laws.
2. TASK BOOK
I noticed that the company's employees
are highly skilled, trained, attentive and
friendly.
Employees are passionate about their job,
they have experience in the field of
specialized translations of any kind. They
always respond promptly to questions.
2. TASK BOOK
They are patient and have an interest in
revising editing the translated document,
sharing knowledge, advising resources
which help in the translation process.
I had the honour for an offer at the end
because they have persuaded me to apply
for the position of translator at their
agency.
3.TRANSLATION DIFFICULTIES

I have many difficulties in translating

certificates. Although at the first they seem
simple, attention to details such as date, and
cultural specificity is needed. The
responsibility is enormous, when it comes to
education related acts as well as medical
documentation, on which the health and
maybe even the life of a person might depend
on the correct and accurate translation of
medical papers, hospitalization records,
medication etc.
Also, each term has been defined and
explained and applied in the glossary.
4. PORTFOLIO ELABORATION
More students were present at the
translation office. Each of us has translated
certificates, texts, and after completing it,
the agency staff checked the works.
4.PORTFOLIO ELABORATION

In the practical dossier we included: the

certificates, documents, texts translated
in two languages, the glossary with the
200 terms, the Europass CV, my
characteristic made by the agency's staff
and the practical work report.
4.PORTFOLIO ELABORATION

The agency staff showed me examples of

documents, showed me and explained
how to work out. Then how to
authenticate to the notary.
And I translated more texts, I used
dictionaries to translate what how I not
understand.
5.DIFFICULTIES ENCOUNTERED

My glossary contains terms in the field of

politics and law.
For example : Internal Affairs , Official
Seal , Civil Status Service, Notary, Courts
of Law ,Court Clerk and others..
6.CONCLUSION

My experience as a translator was

unforgettable. We worked in the team,
we learned and I had a good collaboration
with the "Dar Works" company.
6.CONCLUSION

I understand that the translator needs:

daily training, attention to detail, passion
and dedication, patience and interest in
reviewing the translated document and,
of course, tens of hours in front of the
computer - even if it's day or night.
