Inert Gas Application limitations:
Per NFPA 2001, Clean Agent systems shall “NOT” be used on fires
involving the following materials:
• Chemicals or mixtures of chemicals that are capable of rapid
oxidation in the absence of air.
(Examples include: Cellulose Nitrate and Gunpowder)
• Reactive metals such as Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium,
Titanium, Zirconium, Uranium, and Plutonium
• Metal hydrides such as Sodium Hydride and Lithium Aluminum
Hydride
• Chemicals capable of undergoing auto‐thermal decomposition.
(Examples: Organic Peroxides and Hydrazine)

Selector Valve Assembly Operation
• UVO operation allows discharge pressure to transfer through hose and
operate the selector valve, opening it and allowing agent to flow to the
affected hazard.
• Venting of excess pressure during discharge is accomplished by pressure
relief valve
• Manual venting through relief valve will allow spring loaded Selector Valve
to return to it’s normal state

• After Selector Valve activation, UVO MUST be reset!!
• Release Fitting Valve Core (02-13887) MUST be replaced after
each activation.
• Failure to reset UVO and replace valve core will result in
unintended Selector Valve activation in the future due to pressure
leak through valve core!
