Bearing service concept

1. Bearing Quality
2. Operating environment
3. Proper installation
4. Proper maintenance
5. Trouble free Operation
Bearing Quality
• The goal to provide every bearing user with
long , trouble – free operation.
• Our substandtial investment in research and
development has result ed in production of
high qulity.
• However bearing quality alone canot guarentee
trouble free operation. Other factor affect
the life span of every baring , including
Operating environment
• Machinery must be kept in peak in operating
condition at the time ,
• The bearing should be properly aligned and
protected from extreme temperature ,
moisture and contamination.

Proper installation :
* Knowledge of the proper installation techniques
and tools is required to ensure that the
bearings are not damaged.
Proper Maintenance:
*Following lubrication and maintence
schedules .
*Recommended OEM lubrication of
lubricant.
*Motoring bearing operation
condition ( Vibration analying report
for regular or if required) .
*the above factor are impact in
maximizing bearing life.
Trouble free operation:
*Bearing supplier committed to the proper
servicing and maintenance of bearing.
*The troublefree operation concept minimizes
the risk of bearing downtimes and ensures
that the bearing achieve that full potential.
• This concept gives the cost reduction and
effective operation.
Bearing usage:
Bearing life:
** Rolling bearing rating is defined as the number of revolution
( or the number of operating hours at a given constant
speed) which a bearing is capable of enduring before the
first sign of failure occurs on one of the ring or rolling
element.

**in this case it is vital that the bearing is carefully examined

in order to determine the reason for failure so that
preventive action can be taken

**Bearing failure is not generally intiated by fatigue.

but by wear, corrosion, contamination , seal failure etc.
Why bearing fail
**A bearing failure may occur for many reason
1.Heavier loading than had been anticipated.
2.In effective seals.
3.Ineffective fit which are too tight resulting in
too small bearing clearance ect.
4.Which the bearing which do fail, approximately
one thid “die” from old age. i.e fatigue of the
bearing surface, .
5.Another failure is poor lubrication.
6.Contamination entering the bearing.
7.Handling damage or faulty mounting
For example in the pulp and paper industry poor
lubrication or contamination are the major causes
of failure , not fatique.
Type of bearing:
1.Roller bearing
2. Journal bearing
a.White metal bearing
b.Gun metal bearing
3.Cast iron bearing.
4.Wodden bearing
