PS3 History
GENERAL INFORMATION

Area of Responsibility – The area has eight (8) government offices, 23 banks, 7
department stores, 2 big commercial establishments and hundreds of smaller
ones, 2 hotels and 6 motels, 15 pawnshops, 6 money changers, 4 movie houses,
and 2 radio stations. The people in the area are predominantly Roman Catholics
although religion varies. There are 3 churches in the area – all Roman Catholic
and these are the Blessed Sacrament Parish Church, The Cebu Metropolitan
Cathedral, and the well known Basilica Del Santo Niño. Most of the inhabitants
have little income economically, but still literacy rate is very high. This rather
high literacy rate is experienced because of four(4 )big public schools .

Station 3 covers some significant landmarks in its AOR, they are the
famous Magellan’s Cross fronting the Cebu City Hall, the Plaza Independencia,
Fort San Pedro, the old Customs House which was converted into Malacañang Sa
Sugbo, and the oblique at the northern end of Colon Street, proclaiming it as the
oldest street in the whole Philippines.

mobility assets is of great help in CCPO’s conduct of Police visibility and
anti-criminality in the area of Cebu City.
