u: long term weights, computed via LTBF

• SRS based estimation of channel response H
• H averaged over PRBs and time
• LTE493: LTBF over 8 antennas
• LTE541:
– LTBF over 4 antennas per polarization
– => 1 H vector per polarization
For internal use
– => both H vectors averaged

TxDiv fall back inside TM8 (based on CQI and rank)
• motivation: no DRS overhead with TxDiv => TxDiv may outperform SS-BF in case of high CQI

rank switching

fall back

• decision based on current mimoCQI and mimoRANK

• red region: use DS-BF (independent of current mode)
• yellow region: use SS-BF (independent of current mode)
• green region: use TxDiv (independent of current mode)
• blue region: if current mode = DS-BF: switch to SS-BF
else: keep current mode (SS-BF or TxDiv)
• orange region: keep current mode
• same TxDiv fall back method inside TM7 (no DS-BF part, LTE493 ?)
