A representative from each group will pick one case from 5 scenarios 3. By group, discuss the case for 10 minutes 4. Answer the guide questions in 5 minutes using manila paper and meta cards. 5. Each group, present the output in 3 minutes. Case 1: Nicole is a 15 year old young lady. Her classmate Sheila always pulls her long and shiny hair. Nicole told Sheila to stop but the latter continues to do it. As a result, Nicole got upset and does not want to go to school anymore because of embarrassment. Case 2: Samantha has a purely dark skin because of her complexion her classmates teased her, that people with dark skin has bad odor and usually possess some virus. She cried because she’s helpless and nobody helped her. She feels weaker and anxious. Case 3: Joshua always hears bad remarks because of his old style of dressing. His clothes are out of fashion because of poverty. His classmates give him some funny name calling. Other classmates would laugh at it most of the time. He feels more rejected and humiliated every time this happens. Case 4: As Darlene is getting on the hallway. Amy sticks out her foot and trips her. Darlene stumbles and almost falls while Amy is heard saying loudly to a friend, “Darlene is so fat she can’t fit down the aisle.” Darlene is still standing in the aisle and its clear that she’s about to cry. As Amy and her friends are doubled up with laughter. Case 5: Mario is a grade VII student. Every time he reports in class a group of students interrupts him, tells him “you have the wrong information.” Mario feels disappointed and wanted to go back to the province. Guide Questions: 1. Abstraction BULLYING or PEER ABUSE refers to willful aggressive behavior that is directed, towards a particular victim who may be: outnumbered, younger, weak, with disability, less confident or otherwise vulnerable Bullying is committed when a student commits an act or series of acts directed towards another student, or a series of single acts directed towards several students in a school setting or a place of learning, which results in physical and mental abuse, harassment, intimidation or humiliation. A form of violence defined as repeated and systematic harassment and attacks on others Is essentially intimidating people perceived as weak or weaker, than the bully, which is characterized by a pattern of behavior rather than an isolated event which makes it distinct from other forms of violence Acts of Bullying

Stalking or constantly following or pursuing a person in his/her daily activities, with unwanted and obsessive attention Taking property Public humiliation or public and malicious imputation of a crime or of a vice or defect, whether real or imaginary, or any act, omission, condition, status, or circumstance tending to cause dishonor, discredit or expose a person to contempt. Physical Bullying- Any unwanted,
hurtful and sudden physical contact between the bully and the victim, with the victim having no means to defend themselves. Psychological Bullying Any act that causes damage to a victim’s psyche and/or emotional well-being and any similar acts that create adverse impact on the psychological well-being of the victim. Sexual Bullying- The act that embarrass, annoy, irritate, threat and torment the mind of the child, which results in an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment for the child. Emotional Bullying - An act that causes the victim undue emotional distress like directing foul language or profanity at the target. Cyber Bullying- any conduct resulting in harassment, intimidation or humiliation through electronic means or other technology such as, but not limited to texting, email, instant messaging, chatting, internet, social networking website or other platforms or format. Preventive Measures:
Integration of education sessions on
bullying and positive discipline in the initiatives of Parent-Teachers Associations (PTAs) Formation of support groups among teaching staff, and parents and caregivers. Include bullying in the homeroom discussion. Encouraging and supporting student-led initiatives to raise awareness on children’s right, bullying, and positive discipline Setting up child-friendly mechanisms for obtaining children’s views and participation in the formulation, monitoring and assessment of school rules and policies related to student discipline.
