Training imparted through Teleconference
Innovation in teachers training
• Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Gujarat, used the network of more than 7500 DRS
sets / KU Band for imparting state-level In-Service training through
teleconferencing on effective teaching to 1,94,000 Elementary school
teachers, present simultaneously in 4000 class-rooms with Receive-Only-
Terminals (ROTs) situated at BRCs and CRCs across the state .
– To all teachers in April 4 days(21st -24th April’2009)
– To the teachers of std: 1 to 4 In June 4 days (8th -11th June’2009)
– To the teachers of Std: 5 to 7 in June 9 days (8th-17th June’2009)

• Tele conference : (Remedial Teaching)
– In the month of December (29-12-2009)the first teleconference was organized
on general instruction
– On 9-1-10 :On general Instruction and about remedial teaching, role and
responsibility of volunteer teachers/HM and CRC, BRC Co. During this
teleconference demonstration lesson on 'Reading Skills' was given
– On 28 January: Relay of demonstration lesson by expert teacher on 'Computing
competency' skills and how to manage remedial class with various groups of
students with different abilities.
– On 16th February: There was a teleconference on 'Writing Skills'
– During teleconference the last hour was reserved for queries and suggestions
from teachers.

The “GUNOTSAV” aimed at undertaking quality assessment in a
drive mode with a wide involvement of elected representatives and
senior government functionaries.
The objectives of GUNOTSAV:-
• To sensitize the administration, parents, teacher & the community
to the concept of quality in education
• To encourage teachers for self appraisal and analysis of their own
teaching methodology as well as of the physical infrastructure
available to them
• Appraisal of the quality of education through a standardized format
by senior Government Officers
• To collect & collate all the above feedback electronically, to enable
analysis (which will allow for rating of schools and also help in
identifying the problems adversely affecting the quality of
