with ICICI Bank.

In 1999, ICICI become the first Indian company
and financial institution from non-Japan Asia
to be listed on the NYSE.

INTRODUCTION TO TOPIC:
 Allows you to buy, sell and transact shares without
paperwork and delays.
 Demat refers to a dematerialised account.
 Trading in the shares of the Company is now under
the compulsory demat segment.
 No stamp duty for transfer of securities in the
electronic form.
 All risks associated with physical certificates such
as delays, loss, in transit, theft, mutilation, bad
deliveries, etc. eliminated.


Even in the electronic mode of trading, the
payment mechanism (usually through a
broker) between the buyer and seller
continues to be as before. Also the usual
brokerage charges would have to be incurred.

No courier / postal charges for sending share


certificates / transfer deeds.

Facility for freezing / locking of investor
accounts, which enables you to make your
account non-operational, for instance if you
are in abroad.

HOW TO OPEN DEMAT ACCOUNT:
 Only securities admitted by NSDL can be
dematerialised. The list is available with your DP.
 Only securities registered in the name of the
account holder can be dematerialised.
 Dematerialisation is normally completed within 15
days after the share certificates have reached the
issuer. Thus it may take you a month , to receive
demat credit.
 Dematerialisation would be done only when the
issuer is satisfied of genuineness of securities &
ownership status.
 All the joint holders should sign the DRF.

The pattern of holding in the DRF should match
the pattern of holding on the share certificate
.
The signature of client on DRF must tallies with
the specimen signature(s) available with the
issuer.
If the signature in the DRF does not match, the
issuer may at the time of demat confirmation,
ask for additional documentation (like bank
attestation) to prove that the certificate
belongs to the person who forwarded the
DRF.
In case there is any problem in processing the
DRF, contact your DP and if he cannot resolve
the problem you may contact NSDL.

SWOT ANALYSIS:
•Strengths: -
 A Big brand name of ICICI Bank.
 A private bank with the Largest satisfied customers
in its quota.
•Weaknesses: -

 Delay in handling queries.


 Risk of losing customers due to cut throat
competition by not providing quality services as
expected by customers.
•Opportunities: -

 Captures more to the potential investors who


generally trade via brokers or local authorities.
 Growing competition but slowly.
•Threat: -

 Enhancive competition with augmentation of new


banks.
CONCLUSION:
• The basic objective of my training was to
analyze the Procedure of sanctioning of Demat
accounts services as conducted by ICICI bank
and its services with respect to trading in
securities via ICICI Direct.com and
Dematerialization of accounts and what the
customer of today perceive for our services.
What significant was the name of the ICICI
upon which people are now imposing their trust
and confident and feeling secure in dealing
with ICICI.
