Intercode’s

Warehouse Management System

Designed to automate various DC Inbound, Outbound and Inventory management
processes.

(IWMS)
Intercode WMS Solution – Features:
Intercode Warehouse Management System (IWMS) is a solution with basic
functionalities to manage binning of articles in a warehouse along with other common features
likes Inbound, Picking, Goods Issue, etc. Following are the salient features of this solution

The distinct feature of IWMS is that it supports creation of Article – Bin relationship for the
warehouse. This relationship has to be created for the entire warehouse while start-up of the
project and afterwards during put-away for any new receipt.

This feature has immense benefit to the warehouse as the search area for article is now
defined at the bin level. Picking efficiencies are expected to increase many fold with
introduction and proper maintenance of IWMS

IWMS is integrated with Hand Held Terminals (HHT) to facilitate mobile functionalities in the
warehouse. So, the Inbound, Put-away and Picking processes in the warehouse can now be
done on HHT eliminating the goods to be moved to scanning table for scanning through fixed
terminals

A wireless environment (Wi-Fi) is created in the warehouse using access ports/access points
to support mobile functionalities on HHT

IWMS interacts with SAP through Remote Function Calls (RFCs). Like for example, the pick list
is generated in SAP and is pulled in IWMS. Similarly, the inbound scanning data is pushed to
SAP.

There are two distinct modes of IWMS operation, viz., Administrative mode and User mode.
Each of these modes have different access right, for example, Administrator can only Pull
inbound delivery data from SAP, and the User uses this data to scan the articles against a
specific inbound deliver.

Warehouse/ DC Structure
 Broadly every Warehouse/ Distribution Center (DC) is divided into three major process flows.

INBOUND
•Receiving
•QC
•Returns
•Putaway
•Cross Docking

INVENTORY
MANAGEMENT
OUTFLOW •PI/Cycle Count
•Order Processing •Labels & Documents
•Picking/ Packing •Reports
•Validation

Racks Coding

All racks in the warehouse should be

bar-coded in a proper manner. As
there would be rows. In rows there
would be sides, columns as well as
floors from down level to upper level.

Example:
As Shown in picture

12 is Row
C specify floor
2 specify face
H specify Column

Material Received at Plant
• Inward Material List (inbound delivery) will be imported from existing software
(RAMCO’s ERP System) to our middle ware software.

• It will contain all the necessary data require for inward of material. Like - article
code, article description, quantity, purchase order number etc.

• Same delivery will be assigned to the user from our software.

• User will enter that Inbound to Our HHT software, software will show list of
material against that delivery on HHT screen.

• User will scan barcode on material against entered delivery if barcode is present
on material. If barcode is not present on material then user can generate barcode
labels from our software and paste it on material.

• While scanning material barcode user can enter whether it is rejected material or
accepted material. If it is rejected material then user will enter reason of rejection
on HHT or select pre define option.

• Software will keep track of all material received / rejected.

 After completion of inward material user can push scan data to client's existing
software (RAMCO) for GRN purpose and for other transaction.

 After GRN is done in your software put away will be happen in to our software.

 User can give acknowledgement to transporter through proper channel.

 While put away user has to enter GRN number, against that software will show
material list. User will scan location barcode and then article barcode. This will
maintain Article Bin relationship in to our software. Which will be useful for
issuing of material.

 Put away will be happen into appropriate stores / units.

Raw Material Issuing for Finished Goods
• For production generation pre-requisition note will be generated into your
software; if this module is available in ERP otherwise we can provide pre-
requisition module into our software.

• Same information will be uploaded to our software. It will contain all necessary
data require for issuing of material. Like - material code, material description and
quantity to be issue.

• User will select that delivery; software will show pick list to the user. It will contain
material code, material description, location and quantity.

• User will scan material and location, automatically picked quantity will get
incremented. Same time material from that location will get minus (stock get
updated)

• Same process has to repeat till that pick list get complete.

Finished Good Production
 The production machines are big in size and they are having number of
spindles on it. Final output will come from this spindles only.
 We can identify each machine and its spindle by proper coding or if user
already have coding for spindles then we can use it.
 We can assign unique code to each cone and paste barcode label inside
the cone.
 While placing corn on spindle user will scan spindle barcode and cone
barcode. Which will maintain relationship between spindle and cone . On
which spindle that cone has manufactured.
 After production cone will go for QC, they will segregate cone as per
quality.
 If user scans cone barcode then he will get all history of that cone.
 QA approved cone will be pack in cartons, while packing user will scan
barcode on cone and place it in carton. When carton gets full user has to
press carton full button on software. Which will generate carton number;
which is unique.
 By scanning this carton number user will get which numbers cone is inside
the carton.
 After packing if user want to weight the carton then he can do it. After that
carton will be move to storage location. There put away process will be
repeated.
REPORTS
 Quick information access on warehouse based activities.
 Login and function security based on operator.
 User efficiency Report.
 Helps management to take important Sales and Purchase decision.
 Different types of report are possible
 At any time user can see stock available in ware house.
 At any time user can see status of inbound / outbound delivery.
 At any time user can see damaged goods report with reason.
 And other reports are possible. User efficiency report, user log….
ADVANTAGES
 Material tracking is possible.
 Against which delivery how much material is damaged is traceable.
 Material damage reason will be know to the user.
