V Exactly how old is bowling, it is not clear.

There has been found objects that look like

bowling objects in tombs of an Egyptian youth
dated 5200 BC.
V The objective of the game is to knock down 10
pins that are placed in a triangular position
with a bowling ball. Players have 2 chances to
accomplish goal.
V Bowling balls are perfectly round and is the weight and
the inside of the ball that affects its rotation and balance.
Bowling balls are drilled to fit the size of the hand and
fingers of the player. The first bowling balls were made
out of wood, by 1905 out of rubber and by the 1970 and
1980 the polyester bowling balls went out to the market.
Bowling balls come in different weights and designs.

V There are polished wooden or synthetic floor
lanes
V Wood lanes are made of oak for the first 20 feet
which resist the harder impact of the bowling
ball, then pine up to the pin deck which is
cheaper wood & also helps the reaction of ball
to lane.
The synthetic lanes are made of wood but are
covered with synthetic pieces. The ball has a
sharper hook reaction and slide more.

V When a bowler knocks down all ten pins, it is

called a strike and it is mark an X and has a
value of ten pins plus they get to add to that
what they knock down on their next two ball
rolls.
  
 
V When a bowler knocks downs all ten pins on the
second ball roll, that is called a spare. It is mark with a
/ and the score is the ten pins that they just knocked
down plus the pins knock down on the next ball roll.
 


V A perfect game will score "300" pins, and that is ten

strikes, one for each frame, and then two bonus shots at
the end.
