LITERATURE SURVEY
R1 engine retaining the factory displacement of 998cc, RF Biketech
have gone ahead and supercharged the motorcycle. By designing
a custom take off adapter that connects a rotating pulley assembly
to the crank of the R1, they are now able to drive positive pressure
into the engine’s combustion chamber via an eaton roots style
supercharger. Working within the original design concept of the
R1 with its linear and predictable power delivery, and fairly low
RPM redline (compared to other screamer bikes that build power
to 18000 rpms) then the choice of the positive displacement Eaton
makes a great match for this motor. The Eaton boosts power
linearly in all RPM ranges and raises peak power while retaining
the tractability of its delivery.
Boost pressure is set at a conservative 0.3 bar (or 4.5psi) of boost
which increases power to 230hp @12,500 rpms

THEORITICAL CALCULATION
THEORITICAL CALCULATION OF 2 STROKE
BIKE
POWER = (TORQUE*RPM*2*3.14)/60000
POWER OF 2 STROKE BIKE IS 11HP @ 7500RPM
HENCE TORQUE IS GIVEN BY,
TORQUE = (POWER*60000)/(RPM*2*3.14)
= (11*735.5*60000)/(7500*2*3.14)
= 10.3 N-m
BHP = 11HP =8KW
IMPORTANCE OF SUPERCHARGES
The biggest advantage of having a supercharger is the increased
horsepower
powerful engine.
Superchargers have no lag time because they are driven directly by
the crankshaft
Superchargers are more efficient at lower RPM
Centrifugal superchargers, which become more efficient as the
impeller spins faster, provide more power at higher RPM.
Superchargers can be bolted to the top or side of the engine. That
makes them cheaper to install and easier to service and maintain.
No special shutdown procedure is required with superchargers.
Because they are not lubricated by engine oil, they can be shut down
normally.
Engines equipped with this Supercharger have higher (40%
to75%) torque at lower RPM
Manufacturing cost is 5 to 10 times lower than similar products
available on the market
The Supercharger is easily adapted to a broad range of power train
designs, requiring simple installation to provide an optimal fresh air
supply.
SPECIFICATIONS
To ensure workability of the proposed Supercharger
technology the prototype with the following
specifications was built and tested:
Overall dimensions 185x160x110mm make the Supercharger as compact as
possible under the set output parameters
Weight is 3.4kg
Capacity per revolution is 190cc
Maximum sustained speed is 6,000rpm
Compression ratio is 1.35
Normal output at 6,000rpm is 1.05m3/min, 1.01m3/min, 0.92m3/min, and
0.75m3/min with boost pressure of 0.0bar, 0.2bar, 0.4bar, and 0.6bar accordingly
– see the attached diagram.
•The Roehr 1250 builds on a 1.25 Liter Harley V-Rod V-twin with a Rotrex compact
supercharger to place the bike within coDue to the torque nature of the V-twin engine
package and it’s cruiser roots, the bike has no problems accelerating in any gear from
3000 rpms upwards and that means that the superbike can make up for it’s lower peak
rpm of 9100 rpms by using overall taller gearing and taking advantage of it’s torque
bottom end to reach superbike track top speeds from a low rpm package.mpetitive
