PROJECTQUALITYMONITORING

When construction starts, the contractor must perform the following requirements: 1. Set up a quality management system in which every individual, the construction department must follow 2. Perform materials testing, building components, construction equipment, technological tools prior to construction and installation in accordance with construction standards and design requirements 3. Set up and test implementation of construction methods, construction progress 4. Create and keep updating a works diary

What is works diary?

Works diary is the original document of construction works in order to exchange information between contractors clients, contractors and architects Diary consists of two distinct parts: the first part is recorded by contractors the rest is for clients and supervisors

What is inside the diary?

Contents of works diary

list of technical staff of the contractors involved in construction works (the titles and duties of each person),

situation of the construction every day, situation of the construction for each type of work, details of the entire implementation process, brief description of the construction methods,

(continued)

the actual situation of materials, components used, the deviation from the construction drawings, specifying the causes and correction methods review of the quality management department on site about construction quality

5. Inspection of health and safety issues, environmental condition inside and outside of construction site 6. Before requesting client acceptance, the construction unit must check the construction works, construction components, construction process, the construction items and work with the participants as follows: Leader The person in charge of construction directly Head of construction workers Representatives of the contractors Representative of the quality management team to help supervisors Technical representative of the contractor

7. Complete fixing drawings after examination of the construction site condition

8. Report on progress, quality, quantity, health and safety issues and environmental condition for clients

CAUSE AND EFFECT DIAGRAMS (Fishbone Diagram) Used in brainstorming session to help identify the causes of quality losses. This diagram is particularly useful after the flow chart and the Pareto diagrams have been developed.

CAUSE

QUALITY Effect

Step 1: Decide on the quality characteristic {e.g. Reduction of wobble during machine rotation} Step 2: Set up the fish bone backbone Step 3: Identify main factors causing effect {e.g. Workers, Materials, Inspection, Tools} Step 4: Add Cause to each branch

Benefits of Cause and Effect Diagram Making diagram is educational in itself Outline relationship Note what samples need to be taken Guide for discussion Causes are actively sought and results written on diagram Appropriate data collected - no time wasted Shows level of technology
