Dhirajlal hirachand ambani simply called as Dhirubai Ambani. y He founded reliance industries in 1958. y It has presence in various sectors like petrochemicals,textiles,telecom,insurance and internet business and Power Sector and so on. y Now the Reliance group with over 85,000 employees provides almost 5% of the Central Government's total revenue.

Dhirubhai started off as a small time worker with Arab merchants in the 1950s and moved to Mumbai in 1958 to start his own business in spices. After making modest profits, he moved into textiles and opened his mill near Ahmadabad. Dhirubhai founded Reliance Industries in 1958. After that it was a saga of expansions and successes.

Reliance Products has been working in plastic conversion for over 45 years. We started out in 1958 packaging battery acid and manufacturing collapsible containers, all the while supplying containers to other packagers of battery acid. y Manufacturing was consolidated in 1993 to the current Sherwin Road location in Winnipeg. Reliance received its first ISO quality certification in 1991 and is currently ISO9001: 2000 registered.

Their starting investment is 1000000, and Dhirubhai founded Reliance Industries in ahmadabad.

BREAK EVENT
We are currently capitalised Rs 3,100 crore. We will need another Rs 138 crore this year. We hope to contain the capital requirement from then on. y Globalising our operations is one of our long term aims but there are no immediate plans. We will need the approval of IRDA and the regulator of the country where we want to venture.

COST RATIO
