Scope of MGNREGS to curb extremism

Unemployment is one of the main reason for extremism. Under MGNREGS we are providing wage employment along

with development of agriculture lands of SC/STs and Small & Marginal farmers which in turn provides employment to these farmers.
Under MGNREGS we are laying roads to unconnected

habitations. This will also help in reducing extremism.

Wage employment under MGNREGS:    Out of 1014 GPs in 50 Mandals ------- No. of GPs are notified under RIAD. Out of 6,35,571 Job cards issued in the district ------ No. of Job cards were issued in the RIAD Villages. These Job card holders were formed into SSS groups. Out of 30,950 SSS groups formed in the district ----- No. of groups were covered in RIAD Villages. During the financial year 23,125 SSS groups have been provided wage employment in Warangal district. Out of this ------ No. of SSS groups were provided Wage employment in RIAD Villages. During the financial year 229845 House Holds were provided wage employment in Warangal district. Out of this ------- No. of House Holds were provided wage employment in RIAD Villages. During the financial year 4,41,525 wage seekers were provided wage employment in Warangal district. Out of this ----- No. of Wage Seekers Provided wage employment in RIAD Villages. All the SSS groups of RIAD Habitations have been contacted and allotted the works through WORK EMPLOYMENT PLAN for providing of 125 days guaranteed wage employment.

MGVN (Mahatma Gandhi Vana Nursery) :  We are providing Teak plants for Bund plantation which provides wage employment to the wage seekers of RIAD Villages.  This will become a durable asset in the long term.  In Warangal district plants are being raised in 143 Nurseries. Out of this 95 Vana Nurseries are raised in RIAD Villages. From these 95 Vana Nurseries 3.30 lakhs of Teak plants are supplied to SC/STs and Small & Marginal farmers for raising Bund plantation. Horticulture:  AP Horticulture mission in collaboration with MGNREGS have taken up with intension to provide 100% subsidy to Small & Marginal, SC and STs farmers who are below poverty line.  Under this programme 6,542 acres of Mango and Sweet Orange orchards have been taken up in the district. Out of this 3,695 Acres of Mango and Sweet Orange with an expenditure of Rs. 569.68 lakhs have been completed in RIAD Mandals .All these Horticulture plantations have been provided with free drip under APMIP.

Fodder Development and Fodder Conservation Project: Under Fodder development and Fodder conservation project, we are providing opportunity to raise Fodder in the lands of SC/STs and Small & Marginal farmers . In Warangal district 2,106 works with an estimated cost of Rs. 867.00 lakhs were already identified under this project. These works are under progress.

MGRP (Mahatma Gandhi Recharge Project) :

 Under MGRP construction of water harvesting structures like, check dams, percolation tanks, rock fill dams etc., have been taken up to increase ground water table in over exploited RIAD villages. Out of 1,278 works with an estimated cost of Rs. 18503.00 lakhs identified under MGRP in Warangal District, 617 works have been identified in RIAD Mandals with estimated cost of Rs. 785.37 Lakhs. These works are under progress.

Land Inventory Project :  Under this project agriculture lands of SC/STs and Small & Marginal farmers were identified and developed to bring them under cultivation and improve fertility.  Under this project 4,59,811 acres of land with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,37277.00 lakhs was proposed for development in Warangal district. Out of this 2,09,127 acres of land with an estimated cost of Rs. 94247.00 lakhs is proposed from RIAD Mandals. These works are under progress. CLDP (Comprehensive Land Development Programme) :  Under CLDP 21,141 acres of land have been developed in Warangal district with an expenditure of Rs. 3,272.00 lakhs. Out of this 19,737 Acres of land have been developed in RIAD Mandals with an estimated cost of Rs. 2,274.00 lakhs.  Under CLDP all these lands were provided with irrigation facilities.  Under Indira Jala Prabha (RIDF-XVIII) 31,632.08 acres of land proposed for development with irrigation sources with an estimated cost of Rs.11,200.00 lakhs in the district. Out of this 26,044 acres of land is covered under RIAD Mandals.

Providing Infrastructure Facilities under MGNREGS in Convergence with Line Departments:

PR Department Roads: Under Rural Connectivity Project we are providing connectivity to SC/ST and Other interior unconnected habitations. Under this project 2,891 WBM roads with an estimated cost of Rs.7132.00 lakhs were taken up in Warangal district. out of this 2,210 WBM roads are covered in RIAD Mandals with an estimated cost of Rs. 5332.00 lakhs. Under Rural connectivity at GP level, Gravel roads to fields, Burial grounds and Public Institutions have been taken up. These works are in progress. GP Buildings: Construction of 179 GP Buildings have been taken up with an estimated cost of Rs. 1790.00 lakhs and all these works are under progress.

MGNREGS AP WHAT CAN BE-DONE

 Under MGNREGS we are providing 125 days of guaranteed wage employment to Non SC/STs and unlimited days of guaranteed wage employment to SC/STs. This facility of unlimited days of guaranteed wage employment may be extended to all wage seekers in RIAD Villages.  All unconnected RIAD habitations may be provided with connectivity under MGNREGS.
