1- Board Type Mismatch alarm

Description

This alarm is reported when the board inserted into the slot is not the Antenna and GSM type. Reason Hardware: - Insert wrong GSM type and card name. EX: Inside we use GSM900 but we insert GSM1800. And BTS site use card GRFU, but in BSC site configure card DRFU. System: - GSM type at site and BSC site are difference type. - Board name at BTS site and BSC configuration are difference name. Solution - Replace the board according to the system configuration. - Replace the board according to the queried board type.

2- Cell out of service


Description
This alarm is generated when the hardware is faulty or lock cell.

Reason
Hardware: - Faulty card DRFU/GRFU. - Module was damage - Card DDPU, DTRU broken. - TX cable loose connection or broken. System: (Click here for detail) - Lock cell or cell not active. - Software not activated.

Solution
-

Swap card DRFU for test. Replace DRFU card Replace Module and CPRI optic cable Check port on GTMU card Check card DDPU or DTRU if faulty and Replace new. Replace TX cable

3- Diversity receive alarm

Description - The alarm is reported when the gain of the diversity receive path smaller than that of the diversity receive path exceeds the relevant threshold. Reason

Hardware:

The connection of the RF cable is loosened, broken, wrong configuration or damaged. The connection of Jumper is different Antenna port on BTS and BSC The diversity antenna is not installed, and only the single jumper is available. Card DRFU was damage. System: (Click here for detail) The TRX is configured in Single Antenna and Double Receiver mode is wrong. Wrong configured Sent Receive Mode in BSC

Solution
Check if the configuration of the TRX is in BSC Sent Receiver mode was configur. Check if only the single jumper is available. Check the RF cable connection between the TRX, feeder, and antenna. If the cable is loosened, tighten the connector. If the cable is damaged, replace the cable. - Replace card DDPU, DRFU, DTRU - Replace Antenna

3- Diversity receive alarm

Note:

- In system configuration

2TRXs set Antenna mode (Sent Receive mode Double Feeder (2TX + 2RX)

4TRXs set Antenna mode (Sent Receive mode Single Feeder (1TX + 2RX)

4- Radio link prompt alarm

Description - This alarm is reported when the BTS detects continuous RL abnormalities. The power level imbalance between
uplink and downlink. It indicates that the uplink power level and the downlink power level deviate from each other greatly.

Reason

Hardware:
-

The connection of the RX cable is loosened, broken, wrong configuration or damaged. Card DRFU was damaged.

Software: (Click here for detail) - Wrong Configure between BSC and BTS - Wrong Receive Mode and Sent Mode (If Config 2TRX must be configure Dividing

Receiver and No combine) - Wrong Downlink tributary on configure of DDPU (Uplink/Downlink/Tributary) Solution

Check connection of the RF cable is connected. Check configuration of RX cable is corrected. Replace RX cable or card if faulty. Replace card DTRU/DDPU if male connector broken. Note: - Radio link prompt alarm have three Sublink No: 0:Abnormal channel activation alarm (Traffic normal) 1:Abnormal channel release alarm (Traffic normal) 2:No traffic alarm (Traffic warning have to reset site) 3:Power level imbalance between uplink and downlink alarm (Wrong RX configuration)

5- TRX Communication alarm


Description - This alarm is reported when the TRX detects that the transmitting/receiving phase-locked loop or the test phase-locked loop in the TRX cannot output the required frequency. Reason - The connection of the Jumper cable is loosened or broken. - CPRI optic cable is loosened or broken. - Insert CPRI optic cable incorrect to the port of DRFU and GTMU port. - DRFU is faulty. - TX cable loose connection between DDPU to DTRU or broken. - Card DTRU or DDPU faulty. Solution - Reset site - Check CPRI cable if installed - Check card DRFU is faulty - Check Jumper if installed - Replace card DRFU or CPRI cable if faulty - Replace DDPU, DTRU if broken. - Check TX cable if loose connection between DDPU and DTRU. - Replace TX cable - Reset site

6- TRX Config Mismatch alarm


Description

The alarm is reported when any of the following conditions occurs: (1) The frequency of the TRX is not consistent with the type of the TRX. (2) The static power of the TRX is lowered by the main control module to protect
Reason Hardware: - Wrong GSM card (Bandwidth) (GSM900/1800) of Card DRFU/GRFU (Insert wrong GSM card) - Insert wrong CPRI cable wrong slot on card GTMU. - Patch E1 wrong site (Mean: E1 of Main site patch for Cosite and E1 of Cosite patch for Main site) Software: - Wrong Sent Receive Mode of Antenna - The type of the board in the slot is different from the configured board type on the BSC side - The RF front end power is small. - Frequency and TRX type mismatch. Solution
- Check Frequency on BTS and BSC are the same - Check Sent Receive Mode on BSC and BTS are the same. - Check card DRFU/GRFU was install correctly . - Reset site

6- TRX Config Mismatch alarm (Cont)


Solution
Software: View alarm: - Click on site name and than click on card of cell by right click on card DRFU/GRFU => View Site Board => Configure Site Board Attributes => View on Sent Receive Mode => Single Feeder (1TX + 2RX) - Not: If you see this mode you must be change it to Double Feeder (2TX + 2RX) if site configured 2TRX. Solution: (Click here for detail) - Right click on site at left panel => Configure Site Board Attribute => Configure Site Board Attribute => Configure Site Board Attribute = Sent Receive Mode (Double Feeder (2TX + 2RX)) => OK => OK => Finish. And than Reset site.

7- TRX VSWR alarm

Description
- This alarm is generated when the cables concerning the power output

port of the TRX (TX1, TX2, TCOM) are not properly connected. - This alarm is generated when the antenna jumper is not connected to the antenna port of the Carrier Module.
Reason

- The cable between the power output port of the TRX and the power input port of the RF front-end unit (DDPU) is damaged. - The connection of the Jumper cable is loosened or broken. - The CPRI cable is not connected between DRFU to GTMU - Feeder faulty. Solution
- Reset site - Check whether the connections between the modules and the cable connectors are loose. - Check CPRI cable if loosened or broken. - Change Jumper, CPRI cable, Feeder, or card if faulty - Check the values of VSWR level between BTS and BSC

8- VSWR Prompt alarm


Description

- If the VSWR of the antenna system exceeds the Carrier Module VSWR warning alarm threshold, the VSWR warning alarm is generated. Reason - The connection of the Jumper cable is loosened or broken. - Carrier Module (DRFU) is faulty - Feeder, connector of feeder and antenna was faulty Solution - Check the connector of the cable connecting to the antenna port of the Carrier Module. - Check the connector of the cable connecting to the antenna port. - Replace the jumper of the antenna system. - Replace the Carrier Module.

9- SFP Port Inconsistency Alarm


Description

- The SFP port configuration on the RXU Chain of the BSC is inconsistent with the physical connection. Reason - Topology configuration on the SFP port is inconsistent with physical connection. - CPRI chain/ring on the SFP port is disconnected. - A CPRI port on the GTMU chain/ring on the SFP port is blocked. - Card DRFU faulty. Solution - Reset card GTMU if not clear - Remove CPRI cable if the port on GTMU is not used. - Check connection of CPIR cable between DRFU and GTMU is corrected. - Replace card GTMU if port blocked.

10- TRX Hardware Critical Alarm


Description

The alarm is reported when any of the following conditions occurs:

The TRX phase-locked loop is faulty, which causes the TRX unavailable. The power unit, power amplification unit, flash memory or RF module is faulty, which causes the TRX unavailable.

Reason:
- Card DRFU/GRFU was damage. - RF cable (CPRI) broken - Card not run yet download software from BSC

Solution
-

Reset card DRFU/GRFU. Check CPRI cable and GTMU port Replace CPRI cable is faulty. Replace Card DRFU/GRFU is broken.

11- Level 2 VSWR Alarm


Description

The DUP Unit reports a VSWR alarm when detecting that the VSWR on antenna port A or antennal port B is greater than Serious Standing Wave Radio Alarm Threshold (default Value: 3.0). Reason: Hardware: - The VSWR of the antenna system is too high value. - TRX Communication cable between card duplexer unit (DDPU) and card transceiver unit (DTUR) lose connection. (If Level 1 VSWR Alarm) - The Carrier Module (DDPU) is faulty. - The Feeder, Connector or Jumper is broken - The Antenna was faulty or damaged

Solution: - Check the connections between the jumper and the duplexer unite, between the jumper and the feeder, between the jumper and the surge protection unit, and between the jumper and the an tenna. - Check whether the water leaks into the connectors between t he jumper and the duplexer, between the jumper and the fee der - Replace the connector where water leakage occurs and condu ct waterproof protection on the new connector in compliance with related engineering standards. - Check card DDPU/DRFU is faulty - Check TX cable between card duplexer unit (DDPU) and card transceiver unit (DTUR) was broken or damage. (Level 1 VSWR Alarm) - Change new TX cable is broken. (Level 1 VSWR Alarm) - Replace new DDPU/DRFU.

13- Board Communication Alarm


Description

This alarm is reported when the main controlling module detects abnormal communication between it and the radio frequency (RF) front module.
Reason: Hardware: - Card DDPU was broken. - Power cable of DDPU connected to DAFU is broken. - Communication cable between card DSCU and DCCU to the top DSCB card are broken or loose connection. Solution: - Check power cable connect between the Front-End unit to DAFU - Check card DDPU is abnormal - Check Com cable connect between DSCU, DCCU and the top of DSCB are connected. - Swap card DDPU for test card. - If not change card DDPU.

14- DBUS alarm


Description

This alarm is reported when the DBUS clock of the TRX is abnormal or the TRX hardware detects that the DBUS signal sent by the main control module is lost. Reason:
Hardware: - DTRB Cable on card DSCU connected to DSCB are loose

connection. - Tran cable on card DCCU loose connection or broken. - Subrack of DTRU was damage. - The DBUS cable connected from Subrack DTRU to DTMU are not connected.
Solution: - Check connection between subrack transceiver to common subrack are connected. - Card DTRU high temperature is the problem. - Change DBUS cable is we can. (DBUS cable connect with Subrack DTRU (Behind subrack DTRU card) to Common subrack.) - Change BTS cabinet if it broken.
