The only difference is the swapping of pairs 2 & 3 (white-orange & white-green). With T568A we use the white/green pair for transmit and the white/orange for receive. With T568B, we use the white/orange for transmit and the white/green for receive. 3

ROLLOVER CABLES

Except: When wiring the second end you can wire both ends the same , but on the second end you roll the RJ45 connection so the tab is pointing up (instead of the usual tab pointing down). This will make a complete opposite connection

Crimping

The RJ-45 Plug

New (not yet crimpled) connector
Place for wires Place for cable jacket

Crimped (without cable) connector

Contacts

Triangle shaped piece of plastic

Contacts cut through insulation of each wire to make a good electrical connection

Triangle locks itself inside the place for the cable jacket to fasten the cable in

10

11

12

Strip about 1 (25mm) of the jacket off

Dont forget to put the boots on the cable first of all, if you are using them

13

Untwist and reorganize the wires to reflect one of the T568 standards

Cut the wires to have to (12 to 18mm) from the jacket edge

Place the RJ45 plug on the cable. Be sure to keep the order of the wires!
14

15

16

Gently push the plug onto wires. Make sure, that all the wires are on the end of the plug and the jacket is inside the plugs space for the jacket. Also look at the wires if they are still in the correct order.

17

18

Plastic triangle fastens the jacket

Contacts are gnawed into the wires

Push the cable end with the plug into the crimpling tool (usually you can hear gentle click sound) and crimp it hard enough to make good connection.

Repeat the same steps on the opposite side of the cable, and then test the cable using a cable tester.
