president for RA II, respectively
Scientific Lectures
Scientific lectures and discussions
agreed that three scientific lectures for a total of two hours
maximum should be considered focusing on emerging issues
and specific challenges in the Region. The possible areas of
topics are: adaptation to climate change; natural disaster risk
reduction; and innovation of meteorological satellite
Brainstorming session
considered that a brainstorming session could be organized
as a side meeting during XIV-RA II, if necessary
RA II Regional Seminar

financial support for one participant from Members with very
limited financial resources to participate in the Regional Seminar
provided that the participant is planning to attend the RA II
Session. Financial support shall only be provided to participants
delivering presentations in the Seminar
key-note presentation (20-30 minutes) followed by country
case studies (10-15 minutes each)
Possible theme: Opportunities and Challenges in the Twenty-
first Century; Cost Recovery and Administration of NMHSs in RA
II; Disaster Risk Reduction; and Emerging Technologies in
Meteorology. Possible topics: Quality Management System
(QMS); Socio-economic benefits of weather, water and climate
services; RA II and national Strategic Plans and Challenges of
NMHSs in RA II
A presentation of the revised RA II Strategic Plan should be
included into the topics

• Submit abstract of potential lectures
