INRODUCTION
NTPC Limited is the largest Thermal power generating company of India. It is a public sector company, it was incorporated in the year 1979. Total installed capacity is 419.33 MW. NTPC Anta project is located about 23Km. from Baran district. Total NTPC (the coal & gas based) plant are 22 in our India.

COMBINED CYCLE It is a Gas Based Combined Cycle Power Project. It is not only the first Gas Power Plant of NTPC but also the beginning of an era of state of art Combined Cycle Power Plants in the country. Combined cycle power plant consist of two power conversion cycles: Bratyon cycle (gas-turbine) and Rankine cycle (steam-turbine)

TYPES OF FAULTS
Symmetrical
Faults
Faults
Unsymmetrical
SYMMETRICAL FAULTS A 3- phase faults is called a Symmetrical Faults In 3-phase faults, all the 3-phase are short circuited. A 3-phase short circuit is generally treated as a standard fault to determine the system fault level
UNSYMMETRICAL FAULTS
Single phase to ground, two phase to ground, phase to phase short circuits, single phase open circuit two phase open circuit are unsymmetrical faults
Single phase to ground (L-G) fault Two phase to ground (2L-G) fault Phase to phase (L-L) fault
SIMMULTANEOUS FAULTS
Two or more faults occurring simultaneously on a system are known as multiple or simultaneous faults. In these types of faults, the same or different type of fault may occurred at the same or different points of the system.
EFFECTS OF FAULTS
Heavy short circuit current may cause damage to equipments. Arcs associated with short circuits may cause fire hazards. Due to faults reduction in voltage of feeders, resulting in the loss of industrial loads. There may be loss of system stability.
