SOWK 300 Computer Applications in the Social Sciences Fall 2011 Brandan A. Hall TTH.01
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine and explain the various classifications and characteristics of slaves recorded in the Louisiana slave database. It is understood that Africans are from the warmer climate meaning that they can withstand the exhausting heat for hours at a time, while whites could not. During the Slavery time period almost all of the Global South's economy was based upon the ideology of Colonization, crop sharing, and or chattel slavery.

Results
In figure 1., the number of missing gender or undefined slaves was at 10,000 slaves. Also in figure 1 there is a slight disparity between the amount of males recorded in the database and the females recorded. A difference of 10,000 or more male than female slaves. 50,000 slaves were of the male sex. 40,000 were female slaves. Based upon figure 2., the majority of the slaves recorded in the database were of the missing character category. A very low number of slaves were characterized as run away at less than 20,000 slaves. Based upon the g8iven information in figure 2, , 100,000 slaves were uncharacterized by a category.

Conclusions
In conclusion, Figures 1 through 4 show the number of slaves in the Louisiana database was very high being in numbers larger than 10,00 slaves. Slaves were captured from all over Africa, the country of Congo which had over 100,000 slaves imported due to their location in Africa being closer to the equator, means that they are great workers especially in a warmer climate. The Louisiana slave database has a lot of info pertaining to slaves and therefore shows that Louisiana was a huge port for slave trade and use During colonization.

Abstract
The purpose of this experiment is s to discuss as well as analyze the general topic at hand which is Spanking and Corporal Punishment. First, an introduction of the results and raw data collected from the administered surveys. Secondly, I will provide a detailed visual of the respondents opinions about Spanking and Corporal Punishment. Finally, I will provide a general descriptive and interpretive analysis of the respondents decisions in favor of spanking and corporal punishment. In drawing up this hypothesis: the respondents all believe that Spanking & Corporal Punishment leads to better behavior, and will utilize it in the developmental stage in all childrens life

Results
In figure 1, the respondents were surveyed by age. Also the target age group of respondents was at 34.69% for the under 21 age group. The minority groups surveyed, were 41-54 and 55 and over, both reporting in under 10 %. The leading age groups surveyed; was under 21 years of age at 34.69 %. Different age groups have different views about spanking however the percentages shown based on figure 1. All are respondents answering in concurrence with spanking and corporal punishment.

Conclusions
In analyzing my data I found my general hypothesis true. The respondents all believe that Spanking and Corporal Punishment leads to better behavior; and will utilize it in the developmental stage in all childrens life. The disparity of male were greater than female respondents. Leading to this overall finding, corporal punishment is indeed a good source of discipline. All the percentages in the data given were found to be higher in favor of spanking and corporal punishment.

Introduction & Hypothesis

The background variables tested for spanking and corporal punishment is that respondents by age, classification, and gender has an effect on the behaviors of an individual throughout the developmental stages in life; such as early childhood. A multivariate rationale of the respondents by responses to the questionnaire show that all respondents by age, sex, and classification answered in concurrence with spanking and corporal punishment. Hypothesis: The Majority of the respondents all believe that Spanking and Corporal Punishment leads to better behavior, and will utilize it in the developmental stage in all childrens life.
